Gorgeous restorative yoga book
A joy to read with gorgeous photos and full of little details that are so valuable. I initially bought it on kindle but loved it so much that I had to get the paperback. I am constantly referring to it on and off the mat like a trusted friend.Restorative yoga is wonderfully soothing for the body, mind and soul. The yoga props are key to fully experience rest during long poses although alternatives are also suggested.Highly recommend the book, Caren’s youtube channel as well as her Held community.

Nice book
I am glad I purchased this book although quite a bit of reading in it so not as easy to follow as some, but having said that if you take the time to read it before hand and plan which you find most useful then its a good purchase. I am working off of two books at the moment. Pleased I purchased this book but does recommend equipment and it can be quite expensive to start off but worth the expense if you are serious.

excellent book for any level of practitioners
I purchased this book from reviews on here. So pleased I bought it. I love books which have clear instructions, photos and inclusive languages, and this book fits all this. I found restorative yoga one of the hardest yoga to teach due to amount of props needed. This book also show you how to practice with one bolster, minimal props, sometimes I don't have luxury of plenty props to teach. Inspiring to be creative. coloured photos are easy to see what they are showing on photos. This is my go to restorative book for both teaching and my own practice.

For me, the best restorative yoga book to have beside you
I own a few of the most popular restorative yoga books, but this is the one I love to practice from and have beside my mat. The intro covers all the important info and concepts for restorative yoga without overwhelming you. The layout is fantastic, with everything you need for each pose extremely easy to see at a glance on the same page including benefits, props needed, any precautions, timing, and how to come in and out of each pose. The very useful sequences are all separately illustrated (rather than eg just lists of poses, so you don’t need to flip back and forth all the time to the individual pose section). The large colour photos make each position clear, and there are plenty of variations illustrated as well. The whole book is aesthetically calm and soothing in terms of layout, colours etc. I especially love the ‘experience the pose’ suggestions with tailored cues for body, breath and mind while in each pose, which is so helpful as you stay in restorative poses for longer than typical asana poses, and I haven’t seen this in other books. Restorative yoga by its nature uses plenty of props in order to fully support you so you can completely relax, but you can certainly improvise with things you already have such as stacked blankets/throws, cushions/pillows, sofa cushions etc before deciding if it’s for you and investing in some typical props, the most useful of which for the poses here would probably be a flat rectangular soft filled bolster, well worth the investment if you find restorative yoga beneficial. A gem of a book.
