Vita for me!
Fabulous bit of kit!As an avid Playstation family, we decided to purchase this hand held console (have the old psp go) as an upgrade for our son for Xmas. Was received within 5 days of placing the order. The console is slim, I believe it's the new ps vita slim console. The set up was very simple and my hubby nearly connected to our ps4 (it is a Christmas gift so couldn't have it pop up on the ps4 when my son plays on there!) so can't comment on the remote play as of yet.Setting up was simple to do with the PSN account and to download the free Lego games, the games are good, especially for our 9 year old who loves Lego. The memory card is not big enough if you like to download the free games every week/month off the psn but can buy bigger ones (not purchased as of yet). The console itself is light in my hands and the touch screen interface is easy to navigate. Quick on the loading of games and downloading (depending on internet speed). The interface slides just like you would with a phone (if that makes sense!) and to see what games are on there come up as app like bubbles which I find pretty darn cool!Considering the size of the console, I was pleasantly surprised to find it was so light, and didn't feel large in my hands. As we have both a ps3 and ps4 we have the option for remote play for both consoles. The camera quality isn't really that good, but then again, it hasn't been bought for the camera! Ideal if our son wants to take random pics though!Overall so far the gaming console is brilliant and easy to use, a must have for any playstation fanatic.,

Excellent stand alone, quesitonable remote play
I got this for £119 for Amazon as the price fluctuated quite a bit just before christmas, so it was excellent value. Tremendously impressed with it, its a great bit of kit as a modern handhled gaming platform. One thing its sold on that I dont think is quite there is the remote play, however (where you control the PS4 through it and use the Vita's screen to view i.e when the Mrs is watching Emmerdale). With the complexity of most PS4 games and the detail of the graphics etc., the smaller screen just isn't up to it. On some games that don't require fine movement or sight (i.e not things like BF4 etc, thats impossible to play) its ok and much better than nothing. What it isn't is a substtute for playing on the PS4 properly, so if thats your main reason for buying it, I'd pause for thought. As a stand alone platform, superb.

Item subject to existing finance agreement.
firstly very good value for money.BUT...I purchased this item for my little girl and unfortunately she didn't get on with it and decided it was not for her. We decided to trade it in at our local cash converters and use the money to get her something else or against games for another console.Anyway, Cash Converters refused to take the unit as it was on some kind of finance agreement. I'm not sure what this means or how to check but they said it was something like when you get a "free gift" with a new contract mobile or internet subscription. Well these units are the "free gifts".As i said the unit works well and as described, but if the above is true and it IS part of a finance agreement, no matter how much you paid for it, it may never be legally yours.

If you're buying this for a child then don't get the bundle. The console's great but the bundled games are actually a code for a download on the Sony network. A child can't register on the network, they have to be a sub account under an adult's master account. It sounds simple enough but the problem is that the games are downloaded under the master account and can't be played by the sub account. The only solution we've found is to do a factory reset of the console and re-register it to my wife's account, at which point all the parental controls go out the window.Sony's response to date has been lamentable and the web seems to be awash with parents facing a similar issue. My advice to anyone buying this for a child would be to make sure the games advertised are actually physical games and not downloads.

Possible waste of money
Bought a used one, it stated that it did not have the manuals with it but didn't say that it didn't come with the 8GB memory card and games so I presumed that they were included. They weren't and I can't return in due to it being a gift that I already passed on. Very upset with this purchase, hopefully they can send a card with the included games, otherwise it was a waste of money...
