This black box is a life changing God-send!!!
I am not getting paid for this review. I do not, nor have I ever, nor do I know anyone who has ever worked for Panasonic. My comments are totally unsolicited. This is simply a product that makes me very happy. I LOVE this little black box! I have had mine for about 2 or 3 months now. At first, I felt like something was wrong and finally realized that I was having quiet days in the house, which we had not had in a really long time. You know the world is weird when it feels strange to have peace and quiet in your own home. We were being bombarded with phone calls from 8 AM to 8:30 PM daily; callers pretended to be Amazon, Microsoft, the power company (about to turn off our electricity in 30 minutes), surveys, supporters of Police, supporters of the Fire Department, the IRS, student loan collectors, ect., ect., ect. We already had Panasonic phones that allowed us to block up to 250 calls, but we had blocked our allotted 250 and needed a way to block more callers. I googled Panasonic Call Blocker since our phones were by that company and my search led me to this box. This box is even better than our phones because the phones allow the phone to ring 1 time before fully engaging the block feature. This box keeps the caller from ringing our phone ever again once they have been blocked. I no longer even feel the need to be polite. When someone calls from a suspicious looking area code they get blocked. When someone calls from a local number but don't say anything after I say hello the first time they get blocked. When I am uncertain whether it was a legitimate call or not, I call the number back to see if someone answers. It there is no answer or (no offense intended) an Indian voice answers, they get blocked. Blocked, blocked, blocked. Peace and quiet once again reigns in my home. I have better things to do than to answer the phone all day. Even ignoring the calls became annoying because the calls were constant. Everyone with a landline should have one of these boxes. I do not know how it will work on a digital line because we have traditional copper wire, but God had Panasonic create this box just for my home. I am purchasing one for our business, as well. By the way, someone complained and gave 1 star on this page because they said the scammers just call back from a different number. Well, sometimes the scammers do call right back from a different number. Just block that number too. This box is a phenomenal solution for a ridiculous problem. Don't be lazy. Run, don't walk, to the black box and eradicate every annoying hellhound who solicits an undesired response by demanding your precious time. The box even shows you the number of times the scammers tried to call back again. I have even blocked some legitimate organizations that request funds and support, but I don't want anyone else calling asking for money. Like I told the guy at CVS who asked for a donation for something or other, I give my tithes and my offering at church, not at CVS, McDonalds and Wal-mart. Buy a Panasonic Call Block box today. You will not regret it. OH! And DO NOT add your own cell phone number just to see if it works. It works. You can allow your number to reach your landline again, but I don't know that you can totally clear it out of the box -- at least, I could not. 5/14/2021 ADDENDUM You do not need a dual jack/splitter for this. You plug this directly into the wall jack, then plug the phone into this box and Voila! You are ready for business. I have already blocked over 300 callers since February, but since I can go up to 2,000 I am a happy camper. If I ever reach 2,000 I will just purchase another one and keep on blocking (I hope that is possible). The ONLY drawbacks I have found are 1) you cannot add calls that come in on call waiting because the box will not register calls that come in while the line is engaged, and 2) you cannot add random numbers that you want to block; they have to call in and show up on the box in order for you to block them. Regardless of these two issues, this box is still a wonderful, handy gadget in these days when spam calls are on the rise. 8/31/2022 Still working like a charm. My brother came for a visit and purchased a set of Panasonic Call Blocking phones for me. Now I can block up to 4,000 spam calls and I don't have to go to the black box every time I want to block a call. Call blocking on the phones functions separately from the block box. I noticed in a review that someone said you cannot add entire area codes. On the box you actually can and I think you can do so on the phones, as well. You just have to read the directions in the instruction manual... :/

Absolutely blocks unwanted calls
For the 48 hours we had this hooked to our phone line, we received no unwanted calls. Seriously. We have a FIOS fiber optic land line and this works blocking calls- if the phone rings and you’re near by, simply press the big red BLOCK button and the call will be silenced and added to the block list. Additionally, you can easily scroll through the caller IDs of calls you received and add them to the block list. Simple. Effective. Recommended.

Pretty good, appears to be the best on the market, but could be a lot better.
I bought this for my 90 year-old mom. She's at an age that is particularly susceptible to the scare tactics some telemarketers use these days. And yet, still answers the phone in case ... one of the kids might need her. She says it is noticeably quieter after installing this device, and saving all of the 20 or so numbers for friends and family (which are automatically allowed, and not blocked). The phone is allowed to ring and the green LED lights up when one of the stored "good" numbers calls. The phone is also allowed to ring, and there is a blinking red LED if the caller's number has not yet been stored. But if a known "bad" number calls, or the number is "unknown" (if you select that option) the red LED is solid, and the phone doesn't ring. Nice! The text display could definitely be larger. I don't think she can really read it. I know I can't unless I'm standing right in front of it. The red/green LED is quite visible from several feet. Setting it up takes about 30 minutes, including reading the instructions. You just have to know what you're doing, and go slowly, especially to enter in whatever good numbers you have. I would NOT expect a 90 year-old to figure it out. But if you're in your 60's or less, you should be able to do it, or find a grandkid to do it for you. They will probably welcome the challenge! While doing what you set it up to do, you should know that until a number is specifically blocked, it will probably be allowed to ring the phone (albeit with a blinking red LED to let you know it's not on any list - yet). So probably the best feature is the big red button. I understand it's very satisfying to hit it with some force to BLOCK that particular annoying telemarketer going forward, which is what my mom does. So in that sense, the $100+ investment is well worth it. Not sure how much the 14,000-16,000 pre-stored number database actually helps, because the telemarketers seem to use different numbers every day. On the other hand, that's 16,000 calls you WON'T have to deal with. Overall, I give this a thumbs-up. I didn't find anything else on amazon, or elsewhere, that seemed to work as well.

Buy it, Plug it in, in few hours will be quieter.
Omg 😱😳 totally awesome device. I seriously wish I knew this thing is available in 2026. If you have a business landline phone, buy this and just plug it. It does the job automatically and you can keep adding more numbers just by hitting the red button. Couldn't be any simpler. I'll order 2 more ASAP before they out.
