Can’t go wrong

This is not Disney or any other sanitized version of these classic folk tales. Bought because I love Arthur Rackham's illustrations. Don't read these to your children until you've read them yourself. "Fairy tales" used to fulfill the same role in most cultures that fantasy and mild horror movies do today, and they were targeted to adults as well as children.No, there's nothing gratituous or obscene, but not everyone lives happily ever after.Paul Race

was a bit disappointed that it says illustrated version but you get very few illustrations and they are half page not to detailed in black and white - don't really consider the book illustrated - so beware

I love the Grimm Brother's and this book had a collection of a good portion of the stories. Doesn't include all of the stories, however.

Love Grimm and love Arthur Rackham. This is a good collection of stories with black and white illustrations. For price, this is good but would give 5 stars if color pictures were included.

Unfortunately this is just a paperback version with all the illustrations printed in black and white. I wanted this book specifically for the illustrations, and these in particular don't translate well at all to black and white, since the style is already dark and moody. Without the color it's a dark blob you can hardly tell what you're looking at. It's my own fault for not noticing what I was buying but regardless I really would not recommend this version.
