Review: Great Reel! - Best value for your money of all secondary drag reels. I have had Shimano Baitrunner reels ever since they came out with the model around 20 years ago. Those reels still work great. Just bought two of these in the last year to add to my surf fishing arsenal. The cast great, have a strong drag, and reel smooth as butter. Awesome reels! I tried a Penn Liveliner in between and it failed on the second time I used it. Go with Shimano as they always build high quality products.

Best value for your money of all secondary drag reels. I have had Shimano Baitrunner reels ever since they came out with the model around 20 years ago. Those reels still work great. These reels are almost indestructible I use them from spring through fall to catch all sizes of fish from small schoolies to 6’ sharks with no problems. Been using this bait runner reels for years now with out any issues
