I purchased the 7.0 version with the intent of using timer feature. App is is easy to use, includes a variety of settings, and is easy to reset/reconnect. I liked this bulb so much and app ease-of-use that I bought a second bulb of same wattage. It is easy to access and name multiple locations and assign multiple settings to each bulb with free app. I downloaded Apple iOS App. Bulb type that I selected requires no special equipment (i.e., no SmartTV, tablet, hub), as with other vendor bulbs. I use app timers to auto-activate bulbs, and leave wall switches in on position. I don’t rely on Siri. Bulbs (7.0) provide sufficient lighting with standard setting. I’ve tested, but do not use, color-changing, mood lighting, “party mode” and sunrise/sunset features. The sunset feature test, I applied late at night, actually invoked a surprising response where I noticed a physical change and fell asleep with graduated, timed-dimming with standard color mode; however, I’ve not used this feature again due to my schedule. I am one to physically switch lights on/off, but recently found and often access a wonderful, unforeseen benefit. I have been very ill for the past month and also turn lights on/off in multiple rooms with Smartphone (iPhone) I keep nearby bedside. It’s been a life-saver! It’s comforting to come home after dark and know that my house is lit inside for my dogs or my safety, due to work schedule, time change, or other occasions. I’ve owned these bulbs for several months and they are reliable, do not fluctuate, and have not failed. I will purchase more during price-savings’ events. Vendor has been responsive to assorted questions and is working on other formats (i.e., Edison-style format similar to 7.0 timer features) with an estimated release in 1-3 years. This will be ideal for my external garage lanterns. Vendor responded, to email query, that 7.0 and brighter version of bulb I own is safe for external entryway, covered porch, and standard external garage lanterns - even in areas that are subject to rain, humidity, or coastal conditions . I have not viewed specification info/testing parameters. Great purchase!! I returned competitor’s bulb that I purchased for comparison. —————————- Update: Both bulbs lasted 5 1/2 years. Flashing bulb indicated failure.

These bulbs are great! They respond to the Bluetooth commands quickly. Setting them up is a breeze. I just connected one at a time to figure out where in the room I installed them and renamed them using the app so I would have their location saved. The app is easy to navigate and fairly intuitive. My only critique is the limit to how many bulbs that can be grouped together. I have a total of 14 that I want to control as a group and as smaller groups within the larger if need be. They are only able to group into one set at a time and the limit of 5 per group is a bit frustrating. This means I need to have three phones or tablets with the app installed, working simultaneously, to adjust the lights. Despite this slight setback, they are a wonderful addition to the room and help control the mood with ease. I would recommend these to any who want direct control over their lighting needs. Not only just dimmable, but color programmed, music directed, phone mic inspired, and you can use your phone's camera to show the lights what color they should be by pointing the camera at various colored objects. You can create your own color patterns and schemes. These are worth the money.

I was looking for a light with a speaker so I returned this one, however it is pretty cool. The app is easy to install, just scan the QR code included and it comes up on your phone or tablet. Once installed, it's very easy to use. It's easy to change colors or brighten or dim the light from the app. Cool features like setting it up as a nice wakeup light to come on with a certain color in the morning, or as a security light to come on in the evening to make it look like someone is home. You can also link multiple lights together and control them simultaneously, or set them up in groups around the house. Also, if someone had turned the light off with the app, and you came home and didn't have the app, simply turn the light switch off and back on and the light will come on. The light is equivalent to a 40 W light bulb, so it's not extremely bright, especially when using darker colors, but if grouped together such as in recessed lights in a kitchen, or maybe a ceiling fan with multiple light sockets it should light your room just fine. One note, if you try to use your iPhone to make the light flash and change colors with your music, you may find that it won't work and will give you an error message. This is not a problem with the light bulb, but rather with the iPhone IOS. Apple will not allow third party apps to play music without paying them a fee to convert the files that you already paid for. Way to go Apple. Aside from that the light will flash and change colors to other music you have on your phone or tablet and it's pretty cool. My reason for returning was that I searched for LED lights with bluetooth speakers and this item came up. I read this in the description: ☀︎ MUSIC SYNC & MIC - The Lights will sync to sound or music captured from external source - Pandora, Spotify, Youtube, TV or Your Voice etc. and you can choose from normal, Jazz, Rock or Classical settings to control the transitions. This is great if you want to relax and unwind after a long day, make your kids bedtime an enjoyable experience, or help kick start that party. and thought it had a speaker. So if you're looking for a speaker, there are some really cool ones out there, but this isn't one. If I had just wanted a color changing bulb with bluetooth I would have loved this.

This product is AWESOME! I've been a fan of colored lights for years and this product is definitely an upgrade to your generic one colored light or colored track lighting. The mobile application lets you program your Flux right from your smartphone - very convenient when you are watching tv on the couch and do not want to get up to turn off the light or to a different color. The standard color wheel allows your to turn the Flux to whatever color you are feeling and even lets you save five of your favorite colors for quick access. When I have company over, I set my Flux to the gradual change setting where it changes slowly between either a range of colors, a few colors, of one color. There is also a setting that allows you to have your Flux change to music that plays from your smartphone and one where you can take a picture of a color and the Flux will duplicate it. Personally, I would recommend purchasing multiple bulbs (at least two) so you can really set the mood in your room. I have one in a lamp and one in a standing light tower on opposite side of the room. There is a master setting in the app where you can control both lights at the same time so you don't have to individually adjust each bulb. Currently, I have a LED strip behind my tv that has about 20 different color choices. This product is so versatile that it can match the color of the LED strip using the color wheel function (pictured, the Flux is in the lamp on the right). You can also adjust the brightness to your liking and the product also emits a warm yellow glow for a normal looking light. No one would ever know its a Flux if you don't want them to! On top of this great product, the customer service is fantastic. They sent me a $5 coupon toward my next purchase. I haven't had any problems and I've had this product for about 4 months now. I'm sure if it died I wouldn't have an issue getting it replaced.

Over the last two months I have bought 7 of these bulbs and love them!! I successfully control all the bulbs, individually and together, with multiple Android and iOS devices. Both apps can be downloaded directly from their respective app stores. These bulbs have been an easy and cost-efficient way to beautify my home and simply my life. I've enjoyed these bulbs and I know you will too. ***CONSTRUCTION*** Construction is very solid (the body feels like metal). ***FEATURES*** You can adjust the brightness, color, timer, and effects through apps for Android and iOS. I have the porch and patio bulbs on timers to match the sunrise/sunset. I have one in my daughter's (5 yrs old) bedroom on a timer for an alarm clock to wake her up in time for us to get her ready and drive to school in the am. I have two in my living room set to blue to match our accent wall, which I changed to rainbow colors that fade into each other for her recent birthday party, and two in our bedroom as mood lights. Possible effects include single-color blinking, jumping from color to color, fading from color to color, pulsing to the beat of music played from your device, and some other effects that I haven't explored yet. The speed of the effects can be controlled as well. You can also create groups of the bulbs to control all of them together at once which is a very useful feature for mood lighting. *** BLUETOOTH VS WIFI*** Bluetooth is wholly sufficient to control the bulbs. Bluetooth can reach across the majority of most houses. Wi-Fi is rather superfluous in this application. *** PRICE*** Flux bulbs are a brilliant alternative to Philips Hue which has Wi-Fi but is way over-priced. ***CONS*** The Android app has some slight compatibility issues. The group feature works on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 tablet, but it doesn't work on my MotoX (1st gen) phone running KitKat. I can create groups out of individual bulbs, I cannot control them together with a single command. ***TIPS*** 1) Turn off the bulbs through the app not the switch. The bulbs lose their memory for the timer feature when you cut their power. 2) Bulbs have to be paired to each device separately. 3) Before attempting to pair, turn the switch on/off and pair immediately thereafter.

The Flux Smart Light Bulb is simply amazing! Now that it gets dark at 5 PM, I was looking for a simple way to turn on one of my indoor table lamps at 4:45 PM so that my family would not come home to a darkened house. I also wanted to use that lamp as a night-light that turns off in the mornings. I know about traditional timers (the kind you might use with holiday lights) and I know there are "smart"outlets, however this product appealed to me because of its elegant design and ease of use (not to mention the great reviews!). The product arrived swiftly and intact. I screwed it into my lamp, downloaded the app, followed the instructions, and within 2 minutes I was able to turn the light on and off, set on and off timers and set the light color and brightness from my mobile phone (I decided to stick with soft white). However, I also tested the many other features, such as it's disco or "party mode" as I call it, where the colors change in response to sound, change the light color along a specified color gradient and customized color selection. This product delivered far more than I could imagine and there is no time lag between whatever feature you decide to use and the responsiveness of the bulb - all seamless performance. I plan to buy more - it's been a long time I have been completely happy with a purchase! I highly recommend.

TLDR: The bulb itself is amazing. The app that controls it leaves much to be desired. Full text: I bought this bulb for my bedside lamp, I needed something that could cast a warm soft light through my whole room, dim a little for bedtime reading, and dim further for a night-light. This bulb does the trick! The idea of a bluetooth controlled light seemed interesting, being able to turn the light on and off remotely, adjust its settings, even set up a color changing program are all very attractive features. The app allows you to set up different profiles for different bulbs, group bulbs together, etc, a great way to automate the lighting say for a party or something. The biggest problem with the whole deal is that the iOS App can't remember the current state the bulb is in! That means that if you have the bulb set as a nice dim nightlight, when open up the app to increase the brightness the app has returned to default settings: hyper-white/blue light at 100% brightness. Extremely abrasive experience when trying to get up for a glass of water at 3am. This reason alone is why I give this product 3 stars. If they could fix the app to grab the current state of the bulb and update the app settings, this would be a 5-star product. My only other criticism of the bulb would be that the on/off fade doesn't just dim or brighten the bulb, it also color cycles. For instance turning it on flashes blue and yellow before settling on your chosen color, and flashes past red and orange on power down. It gives the bulb a cheap gimmicky feel. I'd prefer it to only increase or decrease the currently selected color's brightness Here's hoping for a software update sometime soon!

I bought two of these and both of them have proven to be completely unreliable. When the bluetooth works, the light itself is fine, but the bluetooth is a problem. The bluetooth will work when you set it up, but after a while the bluetooth signal will just drop randomly. So it will work during certain time periods, but other times it just won't show up on bluetooth. I have tested it with various settings (multiple light outlets) and various phones. With all of these tests, it has the same problem. I have a good amount of smart apps/devices and bluetooth devices, and they do not exhibit the same unrealiability as these light bulbs. A lot of time, i will use the app to turn on the light, after a while i will want to turn it off, but I can't, since the bluetooth stopped working. I have to manually turn the light on and off to reset the light and bluetooth, making the whole reason i bought it a waste of money and time. I would not recommend these light bulbs unless you want a novelty effect for 5 minutes. Forget about using it as part of a reliable smart home. You will also not be able to connect it to smart apps like IFTTT, Alexa, or Stringify, making it further useless. I tried to contact the seller about the problems i have with the bluetooth connectivity, but they were unhelpful. You will be better off buying from a more reliable manufacturer/seller that doesn't have a dropping bluetooth connection and 3rd party smart app integration.
