Worth the fortune.
I was really worried what this fixture would look like since the material description was so vague and they are not inexpensive fixtures. I ordered two for the entry of my condo and I could not be more pleased. The fixtures are very well made and self-install pretty easily (best to have a helper). The large outer rings is made of glass, the rest is plastic but it works. The fixtures don’t look cheap, more super contemporary. I am a big Phillips Hue fan and control all my hue lights with Echo and this fixture is incredible with it’s up and down lights. The presets are like works of art on your ceiling and once mastered (I’m not quite there yet) you can paint amazing lightscapes with the up and down lights and colors.

1200 lumen rating is an outright lie
There is no way this is putting out the 1200 lumen that it's rates at according to Philips, one of my standard color ambiance bulbs (rated at 800 lumen) seems to put out considerably more light on all colors (tested using "cool white"). Speaking of colors, this seems to use the old generation LED elements, so greens are really yellow and none of the colors look as vibrant as the new bulbs. The upper "light" puts out so little light that the area not directly under the main dome is practically dark. On top of this, the lower dome cover is flimsy plastic and a nightmare to get to clip into place, certainly not the quality I expected on a $300 product! Speaking of which, there is nothing about this light that justifies that price!

Great Modern and Cool Light
These ceiling lamps are very cool. I bought three of them and I am very happy with them. I like that you can control the top light and bottom light separately to create different lighting moods. I also love the modern look of these lights. Installation was pretty easy. If you have ever done any light fixtures before then there are no surprises when installing them. The directions could have been better since they were just some very bad pictures of what needed to be done. The Setup to the Hue hub, Hue Switch, and controlling them with my phone worked flawlessly. I would highly recommend these over other light fixtures because of all the cool color combinations.

Weak color gamut
I have quite a few Hue products. I am really happy with my bulbs and light strips. This light is disappointing, mostly because its color reproduction is much worse than the other products. As others point out, you will get striking reds and purples, but pretty awful greens and blues. It's sad.

Not all light works
First it’s a cool light. Mine has a defect.Only 2/3 down lights change color. Would be so upsetting except I paid $100 to have it installed. Now I need to pay to get a replacement (currently not in stock) so I don’t have wires hanging from my kitchen. Does not work with a dimmer switch. If it worked would give it 5 Stars.

Easy to install, but be aware that this is a very large light. You need to buy parts to connect it
I have installed a number of Hue ceiling lights in our home and this was the easiest to install by far. Most of the Hue lamps must have been designed by people who have never actually installed a ceiling light because they are difficult to install by yourself. There are blind connections to tiny screws and you must hold the light up in place as you wire it. Not so in the case of the Hue Beyond Ceiling Lamp which comes with a wiring harness. You connect the bracket to the connector box on the ceiling, wire the harness, attach the light itself by inserting it over the bracket and turning to engage the locks and tighten one set screw. The rest is easy after that. Well done Hue for actually getting one of these lights right. The downside at this price point is that the screws you will need and the connectors you need are not included. Ceiling lights that cost a fraction of this Hue light include screws and connectors. Philips really should have included these. Please note the dimensions of this light. It is HUGE. We put it up and then took it right back down because it dominated our kitchen where we intended to put it. The light is wide and tall and just looked out of place. I actually cant imagine a space where this light might work unless you have a really huge room.

Four Stars
Not as many colours as the newer devices, but enough to have a party.

Not worth its price
The brightness is not good. Expensive product, not worth.
