Shroomanure is our newest Mushroom Substrate. It consist of 50% Composted Horse Manure and 50% straw and is bagged in 10lb filter patch bags. We have just expanded the farm onto a horse farm and have all the equipment to make what we feel is the best Mushroom Substrates on the market! The manure is composted over a 8 week period which consist of mixing and watering 3 times a week. By the 8th week we are left with an odorless dark and rich Substrate. We then tumble the manure with Sublicious Compost and pasteurize for 2 1/2 hours at 155 degrees F. We add gypsum to neutralize the pH and vermiculite for moisture control.

Excellent for Vegetables As Well As 'Shrooms
Could I ADMIT to loving composted horse manure? Let's say I 'LIKE' it a lot. This is an expensive but premium product containing 50 percent horse manure--one of the finest sources of fertilizer for vegetables anywhere. It is also expensive to compost and to process, hence the price. For my dollar, quality tops buying something cheap and of questionable composition, only to find a lot of sand and wood dust or chips in the bag. Breaking wood down further takes nitrogen OUT of your native soil, making it a competitor for your growing plants. Note that this manufacturer provides fine product information and that it has an informative and trust-inspiring web site for customers to visit. I also note that most current customers use this as a mushroom substrate. I've grown mushrooms and I recognize that it would be fine for that purpose...but this time, I wanted to provide a natural top dressing for salad greens seed mixes that need to be sewn under a shallow cover with just a tight contact to soil. I sprinkled this on top of the seeds and pressed down firmly...and this year's greens are now up and are germinating at a high rate with healthy little leaves.Two months later...my lettuces and spinach have been thriving. My soil is 'rich' with clay and parts the beds that were not topped off with this compost have a tendency to 'crust' regularly. Those areas where I have used this product remain 'open' and light in tilth. I need more of this product to loosen the clay soil.

It's good just not worth the price.

Didn't turn out well
So last time I got manure was in separate 1LB bags. Worked fine turned out to be a great grow. The bigger bag contaminated within days....my spawn bags were good I know that, all I'm left with is mad manure.... Definitely not worth the money... Prepare your own s***.

Excellent product, well-sterlized, and fast shipping.
This shroomanure is wonderful. The fruits grew large and more densely than I expected. Before they were ripe, they had managed to cover all the casing underneath them. All I could see in the container was a patch of fruits curling wildly around each other.
