Good quality hay. My third bale.
I use this for my two guinea pigs. Previously used more expensive hay. Used as bedding in their sleeping areas and they eat it too. The stalks are a bit thicker than other hay but my pigs seem to like it. I Use Megazorb in rest of the run. The bale is large but has a thick plastic wrapper. So can be accesed without opening the whole bale. Store in the shed. This is my third bale and first two were good quality. Third was a bit dusty in places. If you expect top top quality hay you might be disappointed. But for the price this is good hay. I suppose the quality is a bit variable. But have no real complaints for the price.

My animals won't eat it.
My previous source of hay has come to a close and I needed a new source. Before ordering I read all the reviews for this product so I knew there were mixed reactions. I was one of the unfortunate customers who received hay loose in a box with no bailing string holding it together. I now know what the reviewers meant when they said it was more like straw. Whilst it is definitely hay and dust free, it is thick stemmed and not what my rabbits and guinea pigs are used to. I used to have horses, so I know what good hay looks like and unfortunately so do my animals! So far I haven't been able to get any one of them to eat this, and that is despite one rabbit being on a pellet free diet at the moment. I will not waste it but will use as bedding in the winter but if your animals are used to good quality meadow hay, then this probably isn't a good substitute.

EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTED!
Purchased a box (full bale) every month this year and its gradually got poorer and has a big shortfall in quantity, was pretty pleased at the start if the year but not now.The hay itself is OK albeit somewhat more dry and brown than I'd have liked for guinea pigs, I have purchased a whole bale every month of this year, placed my regular order 2 days ago and recieved a message from the seller to say they cant offer free shipping to my postcode! How rediculous! Its been delivered just fine every single month until now! If your couriers are adding extra costs to shipping then you need to look closely at who you've chosen to ship your items! It DOES NOT cost extra to ship to my postcode! After challenging the seller they became rather rude and tried to blame me for purchasing, the listing doesn't have restrictions on my postcode. Having said all this, the last few deliveries came short by a very long way, bale was not in baler twine and had been very loosely packed, approximately half a bale in the box, the first box had baler twine and lasted us 5 weeks, subsequent boxes lasted 3 weeks and one box only 2 weeks, weighed at my husbands place of work to confirm shortfall so we were no longer satisfied with the sellers practises.I will be purchasing elsewhere from now on! Clearly you don't need regular custom.Have found another supplier selling much fresher, greener hay with no issues at all sending to us, in fact they sent it overnight at no extra cost! Shorefields all the way from now on, theyre superb!

Lovely hay
Lovely long hay, not bitty or dusty like I get some times fromantic other places. I bought this for rabbits and guinea pigs and they lovely. It comes in a rectangle box (as its a rectangluar hay bale) and you can pick it up in sections out of the box which is very helpful. The only thing I'd note to be wary of is that it comes in a cardboard box only, so if you are not in and the delivery gets left outside in the rain it would get ruined.I will be buying again. I usually buy a 3.5kg bag or two a week for £4 which is frustrating as I could get a bale from my local farmer for £5... but even though this is more expensive than the farm it's cheaper than the shops and it gets delivered straight to my door on a day that's convenient for me.

Hay bales.
The first two bales I received came wrapped in double plastic and I was very happy with this...The last bale came in a cardboard box same size as a bale but on opening the hay was very loose and I knew straight away after one feed this was not the same amount as I'd received in the two previous orders I've used a quarter of the so called bale in two days when the previous ones lasted me five weeks ...so that's my last order from here ...has they tried to impress then dropped off and down right robbed me ...so watch out future buyers.

nice big hay bale with long stems - great for guinea pigs
Our guinea pigs are hungry little fellas and we needed a new hay supplier. The hay you get in the pet stores I often find unsuitable, too short, thin and falls out of the hay rack, our pigs don't touch it. The bale we got is really good, long stems, not too thick and has a nice scent to it. A bit pricey. I recommend for guinea pigs and rabbits and will buy again. Came in a cardboard box, so no plastic involved - thumbs up!Upate after using for some weeks: The hay is incredibly dusty, a lot more than usual. The piggies don't seem to mind but I do as the flat is clouded twice a day after hay-feeding.

Nice enough hay but smaller than standard bale
The hay seems nice enough and was delivered quickly. The box hasn't exactly been overfilled, there is spare room on top and the hay itself is loosly packed compared to most bales, hence 4 stars not 5. It is sold by box size, not weight, so hasn't been mis-sold, but be aware this is more like 3/4 of a standard bale.Organic stuff does tend to come in smaller packs and work out pricier, so I suppose if you like the idea of organic for your pets, this is a good buy.
