hi, how do you get the water to come out?

I hope this helps. I attached one of the parts to the water line that goes into the toilet. Then I attached the water line back to the toilet. Once everything is all set, you turn the knob on the bidet.

How do you make the water squirt, and can you control how strong the spray is?

The piece on the side of the tank is a rotating handle that you use to make the water come out, and to control the flow. The nice thing about this bidet is that the "spout" extends forward, meaning it can be very useful for feminine hygiene in particular.
