Now that Buddy Valastro has been firmly established as one of the most renowned cake artists in the country, everyone seems to want a piece of him. Celebrities like Danica Patrick race in for chocolate cars that vroom, and Regis Philbin runs rampant around the bakery, trying to emulate Buddy s impeccable style. Big-name companies also come calling, with Tide wanting a washing machine and Rolls Royce commissioning a Chicago-sized cake for its grand opening. Orders from other clients are anything but ordinary an edible chandelier, a gigantic dinosaur wedding cake, and even a spinning Ferris wheel. Then, Buddy will attempt the most expensive cake ever complete with diamonds and pearls. Taste more than five hours of pure confection as the sweetest creations rise to the occasions in Carlo s Bake Shop.

Fun Show!
I am a chef instructor and teach Culinary Arts at a rural high school. I like using Cake Boss as a filler activity to show my students if we have 15-20 minutes left after we've been in the kitchen.Although I appreciate the use of culinary jackets and enjoy Buddy's creativity as well as the interaction between Buddy and his family and staff, I wish he and the other bakers would wear hair restraints (except for Mauro Castano who is largely bald). My students sometimes ask me about this and the only answer I've been able to come up with is that hair restraints might not look good on TV.On the brighter side, Cake Boss has inspired my level II students to be creative with rice krispie treats, butter cream frosting, and fondant.

Unlike other respondees, my copy of Season 6 does ...
Unlike other respondees, my copy of Season 6 does have the first 16 episodes of Season 6 on it. I'm assuming that they will be coming out with a Volume 2 with the rest of the episodes in the season, & hopefully some bonus episodes that were missing from other seasons. I'm not sure why it wasn't labeled "Volume 1", however.

Cake and Family.
The drama and the beauty, the icing and the fondant. This show is more about family relations and cake design than just cake decorating. I have watched all 8 seasons and I hope there is another 8 to go but, Hurricane Sandy really devastated the Jersey shoreline; I hope they can recover for more episodes.

Received correct dvd
I was afraid to purchase this dvd based on other reviews. I shouldn't have worried. It was perfectly fine. I received 16 episodes of Cake Boss season 6.

kind of disappointing
season after season this is becoming more a family video journal / family soap opera and progressively less a show about making unusual cakes, and bakery drama. I care about Buddy's family as much as he cares about mine, I want to see him creating cakes, dealing with customers, and with the people he works with. The rest is boring and in this season there is way too much of that

Love Cake Boss
I have learned a lot from Buddy and his crew is hilarious, I'm hoping he will continue to create such large works of art.
