Rigorous
As an undergraduate textbook on set theory, this book leaves no stone unturned. I have some preliminary background in set theory but needed to solidify some basics as well as to move ahead to more advanced topics. I would say that the title "Set Theory for Beginners" is technically true, but this book is much more than what the title implies, it really dives deep into the subject matter. The combination of the chapter material and exercises with solutions work in harmony to teach you what you need to know, and it teaches you well. I highly recommend this book, whether you are taking this course in college or are a self learner of the topic.

Makes Simple Concepts Incomprehensible
I have no idea why the other reviews of this book are so high, but they do all read like fakes. This book manages to take simple concepts and obfuscate them. By lesson three the examples and explanations are incomprehensible. I was looking for a good book to review these concepts, so things like DeMorgan's law are familiar to me. The book overkills and overcomplicates. Stay away.

EXCELLENT!
Set Theory for Beginners is exactly what it’s title says. It requires no prior knowledge of set theory and no particular mathematical background. It goes step-by-step, entirely logically, from the most simple notion of set membership all the way to very difficult concepts. The author says that Lessons 1-7 (out of a total of 16 lessons in the book) provide “a complete introduction to non-axiomatic set theory” and that is exactly correct. Be sure to do all of the problems to get the most out of the book. There are 10 interesting problems at the end of each lesson, arranged according to difficulty, and a very thorough Solution Guide available for free download.

A beautiful book! it's worth reading!
A beautiful book!Set Theory for Beginners is really an excellent book. It deals very elegantly with both the naive theory of sets and the axiomatic theory of sets. A highly didactic text, which facilitates reading for beginners in the topics covered, but also apprehends all subjects, with all necessary rigor in the texts of Mathematics. It pays to read the book!Well ... I'm a math teacher retired a few years ago. Today, I study only for pleasure. And I assure you it is very pleasant to read such a well written book.Paulo Sérgio Argolo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)

PERFECT!!
This is definetely the most didactic approach and well written book on Set Theory. The notation is extremely precise. The problems are very intelligently given in different levels of difficulty, and all of the solutions (step by step) are given by the author. I am PhD on Theoretical Physics (Quantum Field Theory) and a self-educated mathematician. I highly recommend this book!!
