Our Classic Induction Coil is the perfect low cost, high voltage power supply. Our induction coil requires 6-12 volts DC and outputs 50,000 volts. At max efficiency, our Induction Coil will produce 2+ inch sparks. This induction coil is the perfect power supply for our Radiometer Tubes, cathode ray tubes, Geissler tubes, discharge tubes, or just plain playing around with 50,000 volts. This induction coil features an adjustable spark gap, banana jack inputs which also accept alligator clips, wood construction, an on/off switch and reversing switch...in case polarities must be altered. Our Induction Coil is modeled after Heinrich Ruhmkorff's design from the 1800's. Also known as a Ruhmkorff coil, our Classic Induction Coil with an antiqued finish is something many of the pioneering electrical scientists would find familiar. Induction coils like ours were the first commercially available electrical transformers and came to be invaluable in the study of electricity. The most important early commercial use was to power X-ray tubes in hospitals.
