Another great book in this series!
I've decided to learn how to draw again along with my 8 year old nephew, and this series of books is excellent for both of us. The projects in the book follow a very logical and easy to understand progression, and the text is minimal but very informative and engaging. You start with a simple model car (Dodge Stratus) from a side view with a detailed explanation of how to develop the drawing over 7 pages of info. Then the author shows you ~19 more cars from a side view, minimizing the instruction to the most essential elements such as start lightly so you can erase easily and draw the details you want based on his drawings. Then he progresses to drawing cars from an angle, starting the Stratus with a lot of instruction, and progressing to a variety of cars from different angles with only the essential instructions. The author has a great sense of humor with his subjects, and he throws some fun sketches in to illustrate how to use your imagination with these drawings, such as turning an old truck into a hot rod with hydraulic lifts. I have to admit I haven't shown this book to my nephew yet because he will LOVE the cars but will get SO frustrated immediately because he can't do such perfect drawings on his first try. So I'm starting him with some other books from this series, Learn to Draw Now!, which he can do independently, and Draw 3-D, which we are doing together. I'll introduce him to this book after he's had a little more practice.

SIMPLE AND FUN FOR ALL!!
If you love cars and like to draw them as much as I do,this book is one of the best teaching book for all ages and skills. I'm a novice and have drawn cars for years but they were just plain and mostly out of proportion. This books auther takes you step by step and gives you important tools as far as proportion and how to draw at different angles. If you have never drawn a car before this books information is easy to understand and with some practice you will be drawing awesome cars in no time. Also check out the other books by this author such as Drawing in 3D.It also has the same easy to understand and great techniques so you can draw anything in 3D. I just love this authors books.Parents if you have a kid who loves to draw i highly recommend these easy to follow books and they will be drawing like a pro with these books and some practice, seriously!!!

Good for Beginners
This product is a good resource for beginners, it starts you off drawing cars from a side view, then it has you try to draw from a 3/4 view. The author explains things in a very simple to understand manner and gives good instructions. the suggested age range 9-12 is about right, could maybe be expressed as a beginner to intermediate text for all ages though, it does walk you through basic shading and proper size relations for perspective drawing.Experienced drawers will also find this useful as a reminder of the basics of drawing automobiles, but it is aimed at entry level artist.Draw Cars

Boy magnet.
I used this both as an art teacher and as a reading teacher. Boys love to draw cars. In art, they need to really see and notice detail, and they have to persevere until they get it right. In reading, they have to do the art skills, and follow directions. Since it's non-fiction, it fits in with today's education trends. Kids love to draw whether they're in art class or reading class, and how special is it to be able to use this as a reading teacher? Your male students will love you. (I had to replace this book many times. It walked out of my classroom on a regular basis.)

Very good basic guide
My husband loves this book! He has always dreamed of being able to draw cars but didn't know where to start. This book begins at the beginning and has very good details that take you through to the very end of each drawing. I have bought other books by this author and found them to be the same. It was a well worth the price which was reasonable as well.
