Works great
The media could not be loaded. Replaced my old CV40 on my 2003 FXD superglide, Twin cam 88, fit right up had to grind one cooling fin of the right cylinder but nothing much to clear the bowl no jetting required for my python pipes and aftermarket filter, rides great and way more punchy in the bottom end of the rev range

Great Carb for my EVO Big Twin
The media could not be loaded. I decided to give this Carb a try, I was skeptical and decided to gamble expecting some cheap non working knock off but I was surprised, the pictures here do no justice to this Carb, just for looks as a table piece is worth the price, I bought this Carb to do a Carb to EFI swap on a 98 Harley Electraglide, after installing the additional parts needed for the swap I installed the Carb without an effort and the bike started right up at the the third try, I posted a short video with my bike Idling with this Carb. I will sure buy another two for my other bikes!

Outstanding quality and cured my carb cough
Have been dealing with a carb cough with my CV40 on my 06' Sportster 883 (stage 1) for months now. Troubleshooting with no success from jetting and intake seals to coils and ignition modules. Had read over and over that upgrading to Mikuni 42 or S&S carbs solved the issue and finally pulled the trigger. I bought the Kipa HSR at 1/3 the price of a genuine Mikuni and am so happy I went with the Kipa! Great product, great finish, and best of all... unbelievable performance and absolutely ZERO carb coughs! Throttle response is night and day from the CV, and haven't had it cough once. Would highly recommend buying a name brand Mikuni rebuild kit for the carb before installing to ensure all seals and o-rings are in good condition correct size, as well as correctly sized and labeled pilot and main jets. I left the needle jet and accelerator pump as-is and they work just fine for me with my application. Will be buying again and again for any V-twin application I have down the road. Wonderful product!

Never could get it setup, not recommended
I had an OEM Mikuni HSR42 but it got clogged up with gas tank sealer (long sad story). Anyway, I could never get this carb jetted properly after trying for weeks, I'm retired and have the time. I'm guessing it has slightly different size orifices than a genuine Mikuni. I have complete sets of pilot jets, main jets, jet needles and even air jets but I couldn't get this carb to run correctly just off idle in any configuration. I asked the seller what size jets were installed but never got an answer. Suspecting it was just the carb I ordered a genuine Mikuni HSR42, installed it and it works perfectly, no jetting needed. You get what you pay for, but something is different about this carb as I proved. Not recommended, buy an OEM Mikuni would be my advice. Since it is now used due to testing I'm wondering if I can get a refund. I'll see....

Awesome for my 98’ Sportster!!
Works amazing for my 98’ Sportster! After a little tuning and getting a 165 main jet my sportster rips pretty darn good. I like the throttle response of this HSR clone much better than the cv40 Keihin. I’ve got an intake and shotgun exhaust pipes and this carb really woke up the Sporty. Highly recommend. Just spend a little time fine tuning your main and pilot jet, raise the needle a couple notches, dial in the accelerator pump and air fuel screw, and you’re good to go

NOT JAPANESE QUALITY
even though it looks polished, it isn't, just the dullness of cheap casting, it will never polish like one would think.the casting is a poor grade unlike the OEM. if you have trouble fitting the harley cables, be extremely careful as the cable guide will snap off in a heart beat, safer to file the cable ends. i had to fix that issue on the get-go.the fit is good on the sportster and i had no issues starting it up, but initially you will have a long crank to get fuel every where it needs to go. the jetting was not an issue and it runs pretty good. the pilot is in ball park so no issue there.i do have issue with hot idle fluctuation but as one poster mentioned, he had sticking slide in the beginning and it went away, hoping for the same. it does have a distinctive stronger idle over the cv carb.the throttle response is very good and will do a high gear roll on without stumble. for the price, it is a good deal. i will install a MPG kit in it that mikuni sells at a later date.one thing to note is that it is louder in operation than the cv with a lot of clatter.FOLLOW UP: the stock carb was dropping mpg from 46>48 mpg to low 30' . i had replace some parts which were supposedly OEM and did raise the mpg to 38, but the parts were probably knock-off since mpg did not go to normal, in particular the carb fuel inlet needle/seat which was set several times according to the FSM. anyway, rebuilding it was the cost of the KIP so i rolled the dice. this card knocked down 52 mpg. i will have to make an adjustment to the main jet needle to richen the 1/8 throttle position since i am getting a lean cough back, past that, runs like a banshe, wayyyyyy better than the stock keihin cv40.

Never know it was a clone
I have a 2003 sportster 1200 and have been going through a tough time getting it to run right after sitting from the previous owner. It would idle but would not run correctly under load. Tons of research and replacing ignition module, coil,p!ugs, wires, rebuilt carburetor 3 x , went to gravity fed petcock, still no luck. I finally just gave this a shot after reading the positive reviews and saving about 160.00. Bolted it on and end of problem. I have a real mikuni on my softail and honestly can't see a difference in carbs.Actually this one is more polished . hope this helps someone having the issues I dealt with. Bike is running great.Quality from China is definitely going up.
