Hi there,Just rinse it in cool water. Yes, it will gradually take on a coffee tone, but that's fine. Never bleach it, as bleach can lodge in the pores of the ceramic and ruin any subsequent brews. Hope this helps!

how often shoudl the filter be changed?

Almost never. When you lose it or it breaks.

Do you have bigger diameter? and does it work for hot brewing?

Since this is made for a fairly specific collection of Yama brewers, this is the only diameter. It can be used in hot brewing as a supplement to a permanent mesh-type filter, since it's meant to catch fine sediment that metal filters might let escape. Check out the Yama Silverton model as an example.

Filter's OK.....sure wish the Yama Cold Brew Tower worked better than it does.

I wish the Yama Cold Brew Tower worked better than it does. It just doesn't make the cold brew strong enough. I've tried all kinds of work arounds but it doesn't work very well. The tower is very cool looking though. I've kept it and replaced the ceramic filter just because I like the appearance. It'll get old soon and be on Craigslist I'm sure.
