I only learned about this type of pepper recently when I was studying recipes for foods from India and Thailand. This type of pepper popped up twice on recipes that I thought would be excellent recipes to try. Because I grow my own southwestern and Mexican peppers as well as my own basil from multiple varieties (Italy, Africa, Thailand), I definitely know that sometimes the very special experience of a specific recipe is something as small as a single ingredient. So I knew I had to buy this.I have been delighted! Not only do I use it in the recipes I bought it for, I have also used it on things like scrambled eggs, adding a pinch to a sandwich, using it with pasta and tomato sauce, and even dropping some in a lemonade. I can tell you that the friends and family that I’ve cooked for and shared this with even in simple things like pasta have really remarked upon how it has an extra added flair.This pepper is not too hot, but the heat it does have is very short-lived compared to the heat other peppers. It gives way to a very sweet and smoky experience that really is difficult to describe and is exactly why you should buy it and try it.

I've never really been able to make a decent vegan chili. Here in the U.S. all chili powder has other ingredients added, mainly onion and garlic and I tend to not eat these as they are toxic to the body. I thought I would try again using this product and it was a resounding success. The soup base has a small amount of garlic and onions in it and no flavor of them comes thru so I will use it on occasions. Porcini mushroom powder can be used in its place but then doesn't taste like authentic chili. I won't be making this very often because of the onion/garlic addition but it is something I will very much look forward to....knowing that I can make it when the taste for a good warm chili arises on a cold day.Here is my recipe: Cooked in the Instant Pot. 2 cups Beans, soaked overnight with the addition of 1 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar. Drain before putting in the IP. (I used Christmas Limas and Morados from Rancho Gordo)2 TBS Vegetarian soup base - Vogue Cuisine Vegetable Soup base1/2 tsp Kasmiri Chili. It you want a more overpowering taste of chili, add 1 tsp.Asafetida - one half tsp1 can 15oz. Organic tomato sauce15 oz can Organic petite diced tomatoesOne quarter cup organic basmati riceWater - cover beans, etc about 1/2inchCook on Soup (30min), let sit on warm for 2 hoursNote: I did not add additional salt. Salt will make beans tough. To me, it tasted quite good without adding any salt after it was cooked. If you do want a more salty taste, add after it is cooked, on the warm cycle.

Great stuff... Not too hot, just right

This is a vivid red, delicious chili powder. Great flavor, freshness and high quality. But it is not “low heat” by American taste. So be warned.It would be comparable to a good spicy Cayenne. But it far surpasses cayenne with a tangy sweet pepper taste. We love it! But be mindful it’s no push over in the heat dept!

Great quality taste and color.

This is the real deal. Not all Kashmiri paprika is really Kashmiri. How do you know? The aroma should be strong and it should NOT be super spicy. Kashmiri is known to be mild and balanced. That's this one. I use this as my main paprika for everything. Saute garlic in a pan, add some of this! Mmmmm. It will flavor the oil and that will fill the whole dish with the flavor. It's so good. I wish it was bigger! This is a lot of paprika but me, personally, it won't last long with me.

A must have for Indian food. Much better flavor than McCormick or and store brand spices.
