What is the white ball that is inside of the package next to the needle?

It's a piece of styrofoam! Once you've pierced whatever, you put it at the sharp end to make sure no one gets poked. People also use corks to do this, too!

does anyone have any experiences? i want to pierce my ear cartilage (helix tragus and conch) at home! does it hurt?

Yeah it’s really worth it tho make extra sure to keep it sterile tho bc it’s in cartilage

what size should i do if i want to do my septum

If you want to do a 16g ring then you need a 14g needle. Always make sure the needle is a gauge size bigger than the jewelry you use. That way you can slide the jewelry into the hollow circle end of the needle and follow it through so you don’t struggle trying to find the hole. Another benefit of piercing it a gauge size up from your jewelry is that ring will go in easier and heal better.
