This "Brown Belt with Gold Buckle", when opened, turned out to actually be a brown belt with a... gunmetal silver buckle-- one which would have looked pretty good on the black belt that this wasn't. On a brown belt, not so much.Add to that the fact that the maker won't replace it, and...There's a saying, "All that glitters is not gold," that J.R.R. Tolkien turned on its head, to "All that is gold does not glitter...".And then there's this buckle, which doesn't glitter and isn't gold.Oh, well. It'll still keep my pants up.

I bought this belt after previously buying a slide belt. They are similar in how they work, the main difference being in how they unlock to release the belt. This brand using a sort of switch under the belt to release it, the slide belt brand lifts the belt buckle to release it. So, which do I like better? This brand. The reason being is the Slide Belt brand has one major flaw, and this is that the belt buckle does not sit flat when you're wearing it because of the design and the outer edges raise above the inside of the belt buckle. This brand since the buckle itself is one piece sits perfectly flat and you reach under it to release the buckle. I will buy more of these in the future, and the price was better as well.

I generally don't like belts, but I really like this one. The ratcheting system makes it so that you shouldn't ever get the wrinkles/cracking that comes with bending a normal belt back to put the pins through the holes, no stretching holes, and doesn't slowly destroy the belt like the clamping teeth style buckles.Took me a few tries to figure out how to take it off easily without having to fuss with the release lever since I didn't really look at how it worked before putting it on.

Ratchet belts are a genius invention. If you don't know what they are, look them up. They use a basic ratchet mechanism instead of the old holed style. We've come so far in technology, yet we're using holed belts that have been around since... I dunno... the 1500s??Forget about the old style of holes, that get distressed from movement and sitting. My holed belts always seem to wear out, or my weight changes slightly and I'm between holes on the belt. This belt is top notch. I'll never buy a non-ratchet belt again.

Love the belt buckle and the idea of the belt, but I'm not in love with the belt material itself. I'm a big fella and I'm not really sure this belt will last very long. It is comfortable to wear, and I love how easily the belt can be adjusted even if you only let it out a "click" or two. Time will tell. If the leather material were sturdier I would most definitely have given it five stars.

This review is a bit premature since I've only had this belt for a week and can't attest to its durability. Nevertheless, this is the first belt of this type I've used, and I love it. No more too tight or too loose 1-inch spaced holes to contend with. Quality appears to be very good for the money and I can't imagine what the other more expensive belts have to offer that justifies their considerably higher price. The only drawback is the thickness of the belt buckle (hence the 4 instead of 5 star rating). The buckle needs to be thick to accommodate the ratchet mechanism, but it does stick out somewhat from your waist and that may bother some. The other brands also seemed similar in thickness, so this is more of a ding to this style of belt rather than the manufacturer itself.

Great belt! For the price, I was expecting something to be off about it, but I'm happy to report that this was definitely not the case. The belt itself is adjustable in length by cutting the belt and re-clipping to the buckle (very easy). The quality and build are sturdy and feel very durable. Recommending this belt to friends and family!

Poor quality leather that will not hold up. (see pictures) Also the brush aluminium plate came unglued and flew off while I was at work. Be thankful that this POS belt is unavailable and I will not ever be buying from this merchant again.
