T.hese work great and are in many sizes for different applications. Recommended for polishing and making things shiny. Last a long time but will repurchase it.

When the PowerBall won't cut it.
Unfortunately, or perhaps, foolishly, I own three vehicles with polished aluminum wheels. They are all custom wheels with no lacquer finish to protect them. One is a 4X4 (Isuzu Trooper) that sees duty in all kinds of weather. One is a "classic car" that is generally protected and the last is a PU which is always subject to weather. The Trooper was driven to Kansas City this last winter when they were having some of the worst snow and ice in MO for many years. That meant road salt and other ice melting chemicals were in use while the Trooper racked up more than a thousand miles of driving. The (forged Centerline) wheels were inundated and only washed once before spring. Needless to say, they suffered considerable corrosion before I had a chance to clean and polish them.I had been using the PowerBall to polish the Centerlines, and in the East Tennessee climate, they would become only moderately corroded through the winter and the PowerBall (along with a great deal of hand polishing) would bring them back to near-new condition. After the K.C. trip, however, they were in much worse condition, so I used a buffing wheel similar to the ones in this kit. It worked well, but it was a typical flat wheel held onto the drill with a long screw and a couple of washers. Though the conventional buffing wheel did well, it's shape and the exposed screw head limited its usefulness. When I discovered that the (American Racing cast) wheels on the classic car, stored outdoors, but under a cover, were also moderately corroded, I decided to try this kit along with some brown Tripoly (aluminum polish) from Sears. The collection of various shapes and sizes of buffers made the process much, much easier and far more professional than the PowerBall. Plus, you get this entire kit for about the price of one PB. Also, the Tripoly really works if you need to take off serious corrosion like you might find on some "flea market" used wheels. However, in my case, I found the best results by using the buffing wheels and Meguiars Metal polish. The Tripoli removes the corrosion quickly, but does not leave the high luster shine you get from Meguiars (or similar).Obviously, these buffing wheels should work just as well on other aluminum items such as valve covers, etcetera.

Economical polishing kit if already have portable drill
Works well to polish chrome exhaust pipes on motorcycles, but best to use with a VARIABLE speed drill with a plastic or rubber insulated arbor chuck to avoid scratching the work piece. Use of a variable speed drill prevents rotating the pad too fast and flinging off the polishing compound and prematurely shredding the padding materiaI. For my application on motorcycle exhaust chrome header pipes, the 2" mushroom pad works best. The smallest arrow tipped shape is second best. The other shapes and sizes are not as useful because there is an exposed "ring" at the center top of each pad which can potentially scratch the work piece. The mushroom and tapper tip shaped types do not have this, so the entire surface area of the pad can be used for polishing. I wish I could buy an assorted kit like this, but with only one size and shape pad in multiple quantities like I can buy separately. But the individual "per unit" price is higher. Thus, the kit is a better bargain if you can use all the different pads. For what you get, this product for the price, it is worth four and half stars. .

These Help
polishing wheels that have a moderate amount of oxidation is going to be a tough job no matter how you approach it, these really help speed up the process but polishing by hand using quite a bit of elbow grease is also required in some areas to really make them look nice. the two or three that i tried so far did very well and did not fall apart or anything but you have to be careful with them. putting too much pressure on the drill could easily damage them after some time. overall im happy with purchase and would buy again ........

Worked great, glad there were so many different sizes and shapes.
Now I know why there are so many different sizes and shapes..I used 6 of them for different angles and surfaces when polishing my chrome wheels. They worked out great and since I washed my wheels before polishing, the polishing tips didn't get that dirty. I will have them soak in soap and see if they clean back to white again...but as long as they do their job, I dont care what color they are. I used chrome polish, these polishing tips, aluminum foil (to get the rust and corrosion off) and finished it off with Carnauba wax to complete my project. Way more durable than those foam tips they sell to clean your wheels with a drill.

Buffing Aluminum
I used this kit to polish 4 American Racing rims that were polished but had oxidation marks from my car sitting outside 1 Ohio winter. I first tried a Mothers PowerCone but the foam prevented concentrating the buffing pressure. This buffing kit did the trick. The various shapes and diameters made it possible to reach 99% of the nooks but after the 2nd wheel they started to flatten out preventing getting every nook. I suggest buying 2 kits if you're doing 4 wheels. I bought a second buffing kit from the local Harbor Freight to finish the last 2 wheels. If your rims are not heavily oxidized then the Mothers PowerCone will get the job done. Also, because the metal polish is grease based it's a messy job. Use old clothes and wear rubber gloves or you might end up spending more time cleaning up than polishing.

Excellent kit for the money
I used this kit on my American Racing polished aluminum wheels and they work great. I would have liked to have had a thinner cone to get in the the real tight corners but I can't complain. I would say the quality is a tad below what I could get at Eastwood but then again, I'm not paying Eastwood's prices. In my experience, they do load up with debris more so than my other buffers (Eastwood), even though I dressed them pretty regularly. My solution was to slow down the drill and keep dressing them.Worked great and good selection of shapes.
