I had a lot of trouble with the camera losing its connection all the time and kept having to turn the power off and on to reset it. they blamed the connection loss due to the distance the camera was away from the router, it was less than 2 metres away

If your DVD can be set up to look like a hard disk on a network, then yes, but I suspect not
