I use a culinary torch for one reason, to brown food that is cooked in my Sous Vide Supreme. I had a smaller version torch that required a fill up of butane and had a smaller flame. This torch uses a butane can that has a much larger capacity and can be attached easily. The adjustments for the flame and starting is easy to use and works without constant changes. Our steaks are cooked in the Sous Vide at 132 f (medium-rare all over) and requires browning on both side before serving. This torch browns a side in less than a minute and leaves it looking as if had been browned on the BBQ grill. The BBQ grill, stored inside, is a problem to set up just to brown a steak and additionally using the torch for steaks, keeps me dry when it is raining. To my surprise, browning the steaks with the torch gives the steak an additional good taste, that I like. Even though the taste is a little different than when browned on the the BBQ grill, it does not cause the beef flavor to be overpowered by some grill smoke or flame-ups. For me the torch is easier to control and takes less time to use due set up times.

Good as advertised
This torch is easy to use and has worked as expected, I've used it to sear sous vide meats, finish creme broule and double flans clean and quick. It puts out heat and flame with two adjustments, air and fuel, it is light, easy to store and clean. I am satisfied with this product.

Sous-Vide must have tool
Use the torch to char the outside of meat I cook sous-vide. Fast and easy to control. Perfect for the task.

Look very nice but it only last for two weeks and life end never again I'll spend $11 dollar more for original iwatani torch
