I have two light color scarfs for summer, plus two dark colors for winter. The color selections are coordinating my seasonal bed linens. The white scarf color is soft bright white. For ne, these scarfs have the perfect balance of weight for function. Good material, durable. Machine wash and dry beautifully, although I prefer the smell of summer sun drying when possible. I tried other brands of shemaghs and sent them all back for one reason or another. This brand is by far the best overall in color choices, durability, wearability, and price. It says machine wash but I wanted an answer from someone who has actually tried washing it.** A: Hand wash it with hot soapy water than rinse well. The machines are hard on these anyway you look at it. Besides hand washing extends the life of the material. **Q: Are the tassels tied from the same material as the Shemagh, or are they part of a sewn-on edge? Can't tell from the pictures.** A: This Shemagh is traditionally made so that groups of thread once taken from the loom are bundled and tied together. So yes, the tassels are not sewn on. They are an integral part. But as thin as the material is, it should work well as a first stage of your water filter system to remove larger sediment, soak up water if you needed a rather small towel to dry off a LITTLE bit plus help to keep dust out of your mouth and nose from a basic dust storm you might encounter. It is big but sized perfectly. It is also thin and breathable which I was wanting since it will be used in hot weather. It feels high quality and was a great price. Color was exactly like the pictures showed. With it being large in size, it can be used in a ton of different ways! You can wrap it around your whole head and neck easily, drape it over your head, wear it like a scarf, or even use it as a blanket to sit on the grass in a pinch.
