If you are interested more in this subject I'd advise you to Google NHBC Standards 4.3.10 reinforcement or 3.1.9 design of reinforced concrete. **Q: What does the size refer to - height from ground? What diameter rebars do they take?** A: Size is height from ground and there are “two heights “ that can be used on each unit - hence 40/50, 65/75 etc. I used 6m bar but the units are quite flexible and would take heavier and larger diameter bar.
