Before you purchase think how you will be using this bag
I bought two of these fish bags, a small one for my kayak and a large one for my boat. I would strap the bag behind the seat of my Hobie Outback and go fishing. For the kayak it worked really well. It kept the ice and the fish chilled for the day. Plus being a bag, it would conform to the irregular contours of the kayak. Worked way better than a hard cooler.I purchased a large one for my boat. This was a mistake. If you are catching only tuna, then the bag works great if you spike it before putting it in. The bag filled with ice will prevent small tunas from sloshing around and getting smashed against each other when the seas are rough. So when selling the fish you will get a better price. However when catching mahis and the bite is hot, I just leader or gaff the mahi directly into the hard cooler, disconnect my leader from the swivel, attach a new premade leader with bait and I am back in the action. With a bag, you cannot do this. It is hard to unzip the bag and throw the floundering mahi in there if you are fishing alone. Plus with a hook in its mouth it may hook and tear the interior of the bag. If you catch a wahoo, you kill it outside then ice it down in the bag. However, if you do not cover the mouth, and you troll in choppy seas, the wahoo’s front teeth will wear at the corners of the bag. Marlins are to big to fit in the bag or you let it go. For other fishes, I had no problems with using the bag. The interior lining is tough and may resist most fish spines. All bags leak. These are not water tight. So think carefully where you put it. As far as durability, my liners are still okay cause I do take care when and how I put the fish in the bag. The outside of my bags are scuffed. The stitching has not popped yet. The handles and webbing are made from nylon webbing. I have not carried the bags by the handles full of fish and ice. I usually unload it first, then carry it out of the boat. The bags do stink. I think all the blood and water is trapped between the outer and inner layer and it never dries out. But then again if it does not stink you are not catching fish. Now I never use the bag only my 270 quart cooler.

Get it. You only have to bite the bullet once.
I was concerned the material wouldn't be too durable. Boy was I wrong. I use bungee cords and carabiners to mount this to my hand rails. The stitching and nylon loops are holding up great. I have had up to 6 large Bonitos in it at a time with room for more. I fill and freeze 2 liter soda bottles so I don't get melted ice dripping all over. Also bring tall kitchen bags for my catch to keep inside the bag easy to clean up.

GREAT product. I found that it keeps the ice ...
Yes the kill bag has met all my expectations....AFTER I read the disclaimer about the fact that they are NOT leakproof. I had erroneously sent back one of the bags after I found that it leaked fish blood into the carpeting in the back of my wife's SUV....and I caught hell for it. Initially I sent back the original bag and was a bit miffed over the leakage. I initially wrote up a negative feedback report, but decided to hold it until I contacted the manufacturer prior to posting the comment. I contacted Paul at Reliable Fishing Products. He was extremely courteous and helpful and told me that they include a written disclaimer in the bags to alert customers to the fact that the bags are NOT leakproof. He suggested that in order to make them leakproof, one needs to get some of the marine product "5200", turn the bag inside out and apply the product to the stitching on the seams at the bottom. I suggested that they make their disclaimer much more noticeable to the customers so that they don't have the same erroneous expectations I did. Other than that...GREAT product. I found that it keeps the ice intact for several days provided that you don't put in in the direct sunlight. I also bought the bag that has a flat 12 inch bottom on it so that it stands up rather than lying flat in the bottom of the boat. I would recommend that feature to prospective customers.

Leaks
I bought this for $190 bucks and when I unbox there is a paper from the manufacture that says this product, due to design, leaks! They recommend that you don’t put it in your car! WHAT?

Read the directions, use your head and its a fantastic product!
When I purchased this bag, it included a specific disclaimer the bag was totally watertight based upon the fact the seams were stitched, not molded. With that knowledge in mind, I use 4 to 6 (depending upon outside temperatures) frozen 2-liter soda bottles to chill the bag. They don't leak, melt far slower than cubed ice and are significantly lighter than several 10 lb bags of ice. I've had it full of fish and the bag works very well. I've used it on 100-plus degree days, sitting in the open on the deck, and the bag has kept fish cold all day. The double handle design allows me to carry it with one hand. The flexibility of the bag allows it to be stored in many configurations, utilizing available space rather than a rigid, conventional cooler. Rinse out the inside and the bottles with a spray bottle of soap/water, invert it to dry, re-freeze the bottles and it's ready for the next day.I'm very satisfied with this product. Reading the instructions and exercising some sense will provide anyone with years of use. I'll never bother with a bulky, hard to store cooler. I've given a couple to friends as gifts and they are as satisfied as I am.Great product. Tremendously effective if used reasonably.

If you can't get the hooks out you have to kill the fish before putting it in the bag.
I was stoked on this bag! My 60X30 Da Kine was getting up towards 20 years of service and I really liked this bag because of the flat bottom as opposed to Da Kines envelope style. I have a 21' center console and fish out of west Maui. Some tunas but lots of Maui and Ono (Dorado/ Dolphin fish and Wahoo) Generally trolling, but some live baiting. The fish are gaffed then slid into the bag to calm down. Hook removal comes later when it is safer. Sharp teeth and double hooks and fishing solo so I err on the side of don't want a 7/0 hook in my hand. Most guys with a fish box will follow this same practice. Again, really love this bag. Unfortunately after a 1/2 dozen trips I have small slices on the interior that results in a bloody mix getting between the outer vinyl/ insulation and inside vinyl. Stinky! Expensive lesson learned. Ordering a new Da Kine today.

Oh my,
Reliable?? They leak, and most recently their white vinyl started to turn pink. Customer Service? I am willing to bet they’ve never stood behind anything they’ve produced. The bags are great otherwise, stronger then others but customers service and customer care is nonexistent. This is my 5th bag, I know what to expect though, and have learnt to just live with it.My bags are always washed after each day of use and stored in a garage, upside down on the bow over hanging both side for great air circulation. Pinking is common in white vinyls. Just google it

Leaks where you don't want it to, holds water where it shouldn't.
Bag is full of water between the layers. I can't get it out, don't know how it got in. I leave it upside down on the deck of the boat and after being away for a month this is how I found it. While I'm writing this I might as well complain about it leaking too. I know they covered their asses by making BS excusues about fish freshness and all that but it's just silly. Thought I wouldn't care but now I do. Not worth the money. Would not recommend.
