The seeds retain the aroma when used whole or when ground into a powder. That is exactly what I look for when I buy whole spices. Enjoying using it in my everyday cooking do far.

This container has more amount that I expected, which is a good thing. Smells great and fresh. We use it in soups and stir fries, but we got it to make tea with 3 more ingredients that was recommended by a family members physical therapist to help lower cholesterol. Color is true to the spice.
