I am enjoying eating Low Carb, and after reading his personal family story, I was excited to try some of his recipes. I discovered that I can make tasty foods that my whole family will eat. I've learned some great cooking tips from Chef George! And, his wife's bakery recipes has been a life saver. I am using Soy and Almond flours now and find that I can make everything from cookies, to brownies, to cakes -- and enjoy eating them! Even my family loves the cheesecake!!! They make a great team and have pulled together easy to make recipes with lots of flavor, and at the end of the day, I'm losing weight too! The book arrived as described with the original cellophane wrapping, and ordered several others to give to friends and family.I owned this book previously, and have several recipes that have been in regular rotation for a decade or so now. Recipes are easy to replicate for those who are novice cooks, and can be easily modified for gluten-free, paleo &/or vegan diets.Unfortunately, during the polar vortex blast in Texas this year, water damage ruined my original copy along with a few other items. Not only does he retell his inspiring and amazing story, he has included many recipes that were rated favorites by readers! Also, there are just as many new recipes as well. I have tried many of them and love them all. My favorite is the Italian Almond Cake that is like the New Orleans King Cake. My family loves it under strawberries and real whipped cream! My granddaughter requested the strawberry shortcake for her birthday cake! It is that good! Some of my favorites include Blackened Salmon with George's homemade Blackening Spice, Tilapia with Artichokes and Bacon and Loaded Twice Baked Cauliflower. There are so many wonderful recipes that I can't name them all. George, his wife Rachel, and two sons have put together this inspiring cookbook...it was a Godsend when I was bored with low carb cuisine. The recipes are simple, quick, easy and have a grocery list included with each recipe. I love the way each recipe is presented with a lovely color picture and also cooking tips as well.
