Great fans.
So when I first ordered 2 of them over two years ago, when my husband opened the box, he broke out laughing and said that I ordered "toys." We had just moved off grid, and I wanted ceiling fans, 12v ones, because it moves the air around. We both laughed, and he put one temporarily up, and we turned it on. We were both pleasantly surprised at how much air the "toy" moved around. We now own six of these "toy" fans, and love them! We wired them up to light switches on the wall, so they work from a light switch and not the "on/off" button that comes with them. Don't let their looks fool you. We had the first one "die" on us, and that's because I didn't clean it, and the dust killed it after 2 years of running constantly. we are not complaining. for we just love them!

Almost sent back
I ordered the fan with the alligator clips. What I got was the usb.My first impression this not what I ordered as the blades were 8 inches long.I started a chat with the amazon team.As I observed the fan a minute or two I measured the blades and it was the right size. I then remembered that my phone charger had both a type "c" and a type "a" connection.I then tested the fan motor before attaching the blades and then after attaching them. For hanging the fan I used a piece that nails a cable from moving.I took the piece and screwed it into the ceiling of my rv over my bed. I had removed the metal hanger from the fan and finished attaching the cable piece. It stopped the wobble of the fan.I turned off the box fan to see how this fan works. At midday I was freezing. It said it came with remote control on the box but when I ordered it it didn't indicate a remote.I forgot I had it on there is no noise. My thoughts ar this moment is I would buy another, however I plan on getting a much more substantial fan for the front.I must admit I'm glad I bought this fan.I don't know how it'd perform in a tent or cabin, but for my needs I'm satisfied

It's so Cute :)
It is small like small as in very small for a fan. It would be ok in a tent to move air, however the torque is enough to wrap the wires around it and cause failure. As was written in another review. I ran mine on 2 lipo 12 volt batteries in parrallel and it ran for 48 hours. I use a 45 watt solar system to charge the batteries. so if your are on the go and living in a samll small place it would be fine. out doors in an open enviroment... not so good. I recommened a 16 inch fan blade!

Average, or hit/miss
The media could not be loaded. I have a raked garage ceiling that holds a ton of heat during the summer. To address the heat issue, I added many of these 12 volt fans to the ceiling area. All are powered by a solar powered 12 volt system. The addition of these fans has added to a much cooler garage, which leads to a much cooler environment inside the house. This cooler house has lowered our energy usage. That's the good. Now the bad. All of the fans initially worked out of the box, but about 30 percent of them outright quit after a bit of time on them. No rhyme or reason, they just stopped working. As previously stated, all are working off a 12 volt solar system.Anyway, I like these fans. One thing to note is that these aren't heavy duty, but they put out a decent amount of air. Some wobble more than others. These aren't precision machined pieces. No doubt these are mass produced and there are bound to be some lemons. More quality control could potentially lead to higher prices but more reliable units. The units are pretty quiet and put out a reasonable amount of air for their size. The wiring is pretty thin, maybe 20 gauge or so. Thicker wire (18 gauge and up) would be ideal, but again, would probably lead to higher prices. The wire sheathing is thick, but the actual wire is thin so be cautious and aware of that. As others have mentioned, th way the fan blades attach to the motor housing could be improved, They simply slide into slots and are help in place by circular plastic compression pieces. Be certain to never bump the blades while they're running because the blades and attachment points could become damaged, rendering the whole fan assembly useless. All 12 volt devices I run in my system are run off of fuse protected circuits. There's no way to safely connect an alligator clip to a fuse panel. I had to alter the units and remove the alligator clips. As a result of being modified, I couldn't return the roughly 30 percent of the units that prematurely died. Had I known there would be such a high initial failure rate, I would have run then with the alligator clips still attached, and still be able to return then in their unmodified state.I can safely rate these a 3.5 stars overall. They appear to have a lower than normal durability, they are reasonably cheap ($15.89 each), put out a decent amount of air, are reasonably quiet, and when coupled to a solar electric system, can lead to reduced energy bills.

F for Durability
One time use for me. Used once and that was it. Now the hub just vibrates, and blades do not turn. An F for durability.

Works surprisingly well.
Provides a decent breeze mostly down but a little outward too.I have mine setup under our table umbrella and connected to a LiFePO4 12v battery that is connected to a 25w solar panel so it can run most of the evening if it was a sunny day.

Great for solar power
I run this fan from a portable 12v dc power station with the clips connected to 5.5X2.5mm pigtail and it has been sucking up an average of 7.5 watts (.625 amps if I'm correct by dividing 7.5 Watts by 12 Volts). Considering it's airflow, price and energy consumption I'm impressed. It is a small fan as well as lightweight. If you have solar and realistic expectations you will be happy with this fan. I have it hanging by paracord from the ceiling and it doesn't wobble out of whack, except for a slight jolt when it starts up. Also, I bought this with the headline saying that it has no switch, but mine did come with a switch and I'm not complaining.I bought 2 of these, one is still working while the other stopped working (less than a month) but amazon offered a replacement.

Cool fan
Cool fan use it on my boat on the hot days. Hook it to my top and plug it in for some air movement
