A friend of mine recommended it to me... she has reddish hair and uses it to cover grays. As you can see, I have a decent amount of gray hair, plus my natural color is kind of blah. I was hoping that this would make my grays more golden without changing the non-gray hair too much. I’ve been applying it to just the grayish (uncolored) areas, not from root to tip. Initially, it is a little bit brassy, but after a couple of washes it looks closer to the last two pictures. I think it works great at disguising a spattering of gray hair, but I wouldn’t use it to darken a head full of light blonde hair because there is some initial brassiness. It looks a lot like iodine when you put it on, but it doesn’t stain your skin or scalp. There are no harsh smells, and you don’t have to use a whole bottle every time because there’s no mixing involved. Make sure you read the directions! You’re supposed to apply it to clean, freshly shampooed (no conditioner), wet hair. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Toned down hot roots *by S***5 on Reviewed in the United States on November 7, 2019* I got darkest brown. First I applied it to dry hair with gloves and kept on for 25 minutes. It did absolutely nothing. The second time I applied it to towel dried damp hair with my hands and kept on for an hour. It definitely was more noticable with the second application.I have dark brown hair with red undertones and long story short, I messed up my hair and ended up with hot roots. This was able to blend out the hot roots enough where you can see in the first pic my baby hairs are bright red and in the second pic they're toned down.This does not eliminate red undertones so depending on lighting red will always show through.
