Variety Gourmet Saltwater Taffy (Peppermint, 1 LB)

The taffy tastes very good for sugar-free. Has some aftertaste but not bad.Bonus is, it cleans you OUT! Like, pre-colonoscopy clean-out. The cramps and diarrhea the first time I ate some (10 pieces over an hour) were horrifying and it took me a while to figure out what had caused it.I waited a few weeks and tried eating 5 in 60 minutes. The gas pain wasn't as awful but, well, I wasn't sure I'd make it to the bathroom before everything I'd eaten evacuated in a rather spectacular fashion. Thankfully, no one else was in the public bathroom at the time or I'd have been stuck in there for quite a while for fear of people knowing it was me making those ungodly noises.Be warned: if you can't stop at two pieces, this is not the candy for you. Unless you have a colonocopy scheduled. This tastes way better than the stuff they give you to drink, works pretty darn fast and is quite thorough.

Before I even tell you about the flavor and freshness, let me tell you about the packaging. The zippered bag of taffy was secured in a mylar bubble wrap bag with an ice pack, and then packaged inside a box. The most well-packaged item I have received this year! AND, bonus, it arrived two days early.Now, the taffy itself... it is soft, fresh, and sooooooo yummy. I love the flavors! I ordered this as a sugar-free sweet treat for myself. If I didn't know it was sugar-free I wouldn't guess it was - no overwhelming artificial sweetener taste or aftertaste. So, well done FirstChoiceCandy for getting the recipe right.I've heard this brand does well in the freeze dryer so I'm going to try that and see how it puffs. I will have to pace myself eating this because of the laxative effect of Maltitol, (anyone who regularly eats sugar-free is used to that) but I will definitely be ordering more of this so I don't run out.Update: As you can see from the picture, these worked very well in the freeze dryer! I cut the pieces in half before freeze drying and they puffed up to the size of ping pong balls! The flavors intensified in the freeze drying process, but still not overwhelming or "off" from the sweetener. The flavors are chocolate, cinnamon, vanilla, strawberry, and the green, surprisingly, is wintergreen. Love them all!

This is the second time that I have gotten this deal. The taffy tasted great. My only complaint is that I wish their was more flavors--like vanilla, peanut butter, strawberry, chocolate, etc. There was banana and several of the green flavor. Don't get me wrong.. it is quite the variety.. it just seemed that I got one that weighed toward flavors that I usually wouldn't pick out myself. Still a good deal.

This is a 3lb bag of really flavorful taffy. Several different flavors. Chewy and soft. A few pieces (all of them blue) seemed to have melted a bit in the bag and onto a few other pieces. Considering it is July this isn’t a surprise. Otherwise very good.

Corn syrup, sugar, vegetable oil,(sunflower or coconut oil) contains 1% or less of: malic acid, sodium citrate, egg whites, artificial flavor salt, vinegar, caramel. Color blue #2 lake, yellow #6 lake, red#40 lake, red #40, yellow #5, red #3, soy lecithin (an emulsifier), blue #1.

This is some of the best saltwater taffy we've had in a long time!!The candy is great...fast shipping. I will oder again!

very good only gripe was I ordered 1 box of laundry detergent sheets and amazon packaged both detergent and food together no separation except the candy packaging
