Pet: A Dark Menage Romance

For the life of me, I don't understand why so many people like this book. It makes 50 Shades of Grey look like the best love story in history.Pet is an idiot. IDC what happened to her years ago. She is selfish and inconsiderate. The first time we meet her, she's filling in for a friend at a job and promptly leaves the job with King, completely dicking over her friend.King is an apple. As selfish as Pet his, he's ten times that. That first night, he brings Pet home, he ties her up and does another woman in front of her.BDSM is supposed to be about SAFE, SANE, and CONSENSUAL. None of that is evident in this book. Safewords are never discussed.Stranger/Felix is no better. The first time he does Pet, it's anally with minimal prep. Eventually, NO PREP. You don't just dive into a derriere with no prep and no lube.And don't get me started on the BROKEN BOTTLE IN HER *AHEM*. Is she taken to a doctor? Nope. Stranger just picks the broken glass out of her.Seriously. Do yourself a favor and don't read it.

I was utterly SLAYED after finishing Pet. I had to get my thoughts together for my review. This book hit me that hard, even now my heart aches and is still broken.Pet is a dark twisted, emotionally draining journey. HOLY HELL the angst!!! I knew it would be, I was expecting the heartbreak, I just didn't expect what happened!!! Pet was sooooo much more than I thought it would be. From the first page i was HOOKED!! My emotions on a wild rollercoaster. I laughed, i cried (a lot.)King, oh dear how I LOVED this character, yet at the same time, I wanted to whack him over the head. He keeps telling Pet everything he does is for a reason, we eventually find out, but damn that man!!! Yet I still loved him throughout the book.Pet, she is a spitfire. One of my favorite quotes of hers~"My pretentious name had always been the unique thing about me. Without it, I was just the boring girl next door. But as Pet, I felt special."She definitely had her moments where she deserved a butt whooping! Definitely a brat at times, but she had a good heart. And she LOVED King.Stranger, now he took a little bit of time to get my acceptance from me. I wanted to hate him, only cause I LOVED King. But, he eventually won me over, he's still not my first choice for Pet. But he's a really good guy.I'm not gonna repeat the synopsis, nor give any spoilers, for Pet must be read in full to enjoy the heartbreaking story! Pet is now my FAVORITE Isabella Starling book to date!!!

All I can say is....Wow! I'm at a loss for words after having read this book and it was worth the wait. Isabella has done it once again in my opinion and Pet has become one of my favorites by her.You meet Sapph who fills in for her roommate and meets the enigmatic King, beginning their consuming relationship. The chemistry can be intense as he pushes her limits, assigning tasks, all while she strives to keep up and evolve so she can stay in his life. She gets mad but some of these tasks have a purpose, we just don't know what it is. We meet Stranger during one of these tasks and you can feel there's something there as well. The passion builds and their interactions intensify, leaving you hot & begging for more. A few times I could feel my heart breaking and that all-consuming sadness. It was so beautifully written, that even though you felt broken and gutted, you felt things had to work out the way they were meant to.There are dark elements to this story but I highly recommend it. If you've ever read and loved Isabella's stories check this one out....you won't be disappointed.

I have no words to accurately describe how this book affected me from the very beginning, to the “bottle” chapter, to the “letter” and to the very last page. It has forever changed my interpretation of what a dark romance is.There have only been a handful of books I’ve read that have touched me in the greatest possible way. This is now one of my favorite dark romances to date. It left me gutted, angry, sad, broken, shattered and full of such love and awe… This book challenged me. It’s was not an easy read and not for the faint of heart. I cried the hardest I’ve ever cried from reading any book-this book. (I just love ugly cries)!!!! At one point, I had to get up and keep myself busy just to shake myself out of the stupor I was in. I love that. I’m still feeling stunned and a little lost now that it’s over.Sometimes, HEA’s don’t always come wrapped neatly with a bow as you may expect. This book is proof that even those “happily ever afters” sometimes require unseen motives and sacrifice. Not everything is what it seems. At the end of the day it’s about what you choose to sacrifice for the one you love.When one door closes, another one opens up and breathes new life and at the same time, leaves you breathless. Pet is so full of surprises, including an ending you won’t see coming!Thank you, Isabella, from the bottom of my heart for writing this unbelievable story. I don’t think you could have written this story better than you did. It’s pure perfection. I'm really struggling with words to describe this book. It broke me completely, I feel emotionally wrung out with the turn this book took, yet I also feel calmed by the very end. I must sound bi polar but I felt so many emotions in the couple of hours it took to read.A broken 18 yr old, an older dominant man who could be hard and cruel at times and at other times you could feel the love pour from him (I wanted to hate him but the more I learnt the more I loved him) then add in the gorgeous stranger and you have a twisted, dark, unbelievably erotic tale, that takes you where you never thought it would go.The twist towards the end, i truly didn't see coming, it broke me completely, full on ugly crying so grab some tissues.This book isn't for the faint hearted, extremely hot erotic scenes, heartbreakingly raw emotions .This book will stay with me for a long time to come.5 stars really aren't enough!

I do everything for a reason. Don't worry............Every now and then a book comes along that literally knocks you for six. I've left it a week before writing this review to try to get my thoughts straight. I still don't think they are, not many books have got to me quite like this incredible story.Sapphire (Pet) is young, beautiful, sassy, sometimes petulant. Broken. Her world is changed forever when she meets King.King is dominant and obsessive appearing cruel and heartless at times, but he has a reason for everything, even if he keeps them to himself! At times I wanted to hate him but the more I learnt, the more I realised he is capable of such tenderness, loyalty and love, but he is broken too. The man is an enigma and the connection between him and Pet is off the charts. Then there is Stranger, he meets Pet under very questionable circumstances but their chemistry is undeniable too. How can the three make it work?"I f***ing feel you, Pet, I still feel you in my heart with every breath I take, in my lungs, in my head, everywhere, you’re everywhere."This book is dark, twisted, sometimes disturbing, erotic and not for the faint hearted. Usually you get a feel for where a book is heading but I had no idea how this book was going to end. I just couldn't see how these flawed but beautiful people could make it work.I didn't see it coming, but it was perfect, it was heartstopping, tear jerking, devastating and totally unexpectedly perfect.Isabella Starling, you have nothing to be sorry about, Pet is about as emotionally powerful as it gets. I absolutely loved it and the effects of this book are going to stay with me for a long time.

Well where to begin... I love Isabella but this book was something else. You really need to read it for yourselves because I don't think any review will prepare you for this story.The story was quite a shock to me as it's not what I usually expect from Isabella.I can't say I immediately fell in love with the characters King and Pet. I felt King was too domineering and cruel for want of a better word and I felt Pet /Sapphire although young was too easily led and bullied by King. But OMG what a story and what a turnaround eventually even though I wasn't really into the Strangers appearance, especially when he seemed as domineering as King.What I will say is "buy the book" but prepare yourselves. Make sure you have a box of tissues at the ready because I don't think you will read this book and not shed more than a few tears.The ending was an absolute shock to me.This to me was not Isabellas normal sort of storyline that I was expecting.Loved this book anyway.

This book is one of Isabella's best so far. It's different from her other novels but still has all the same qualities. The story is magical from start to finish. I felt every emotion along side each of the characters. Never before have I read such a beautiful, filthy book and I want to Go on the journey all over again. If you like a book that will imprint on your soul and have your mind torn in two this is most defiantly for you.

I don't even know where to begin with this book. It's is totally hot and a bit demeaning of women but I loved it even with that. Pet felt like a bit of a slave but she loved it. King was an ass but I couldn't help liking him. Stranger was amazing, but at first I thought he was going to be the same as King and turned out to be different. This was a fabulous book and I kept trying to work out how it was going to end and I would never in a million years have guessed it. Got to read more by this author now. Definitely recommend this book
