I recently bought a dehydrator and used it with some apples before ordering the corer. Kind of a bother getting parts of the cores out. Started looking at corers and decided on this one partly due to looks and partly from reviews. The cost I felt was reasonable. The next day I used it to prepare to dehydrate some more apples. It is very easy to use. All it takes is a little pressure and a slight twist of the wrist (these are old wrists). I will need a little practice going from stem end to blossom end on the crooked apples but even it that doesn't work, it is easy enough to get the remainder out of the apple. I didn't have any problem getting the core out of the corer either as some reviewers had stated. I hope to use this for a long time to come. Those corers require that your apple or pear have a perfectly symmetrical shape and sit evenly on a plate or cutting board.
