It wasn't a bad one but I really felt that if I did ...
If you are doing nothing more than wetting out fiberglass cloth to encapsulate a wooden boat hull, this is NOT your product. this is the stuff to use when needing to build depth, thickness or for filleting joints such as in Stitch and Glue construction. If you are building a classic Chris Craft style mahogany runabout, use FLAG with microballoons and white tint to create the "feature" lines between the mahogany planks on deck. (Make sure your mahogany planks already have a coat of epoxy on them. Otherwise, the white tint will soak into the mahogany grain and you will never get rid of that booboo without replacing the mahogany.)When building my wooden boat, I found a hook in the hull. It wasn't a bad one but I really felt that if I did not address it right away, the boat would have a bad porpoising problem later. I did not want to wait and address the problem after paint. I used FLAG epoxy along with a couple of yards of woven roving. It all worked beautifully. The MAS has no VOCs. There is no epoxy smell, no allergic reaction, no burning on the skin, no burning of nasal passages. The stuff is so environmentally friendly and benign, one almost wonders if he/she is actually using epoxy. During the process of building this boat, I completely switched to MAS epoxies for every epoxy task and I always get excellent results. Sure, the stuff is somewhat pricey but you get what you pay for.
