Soft, comfortable protective shin guards
I'm not a martial artist, just an old guy with thin skin that's easily scraped and scratched. The ProForce Shin Guards are comfortable to wear and their thick soft padding does a good job of protecting my shins form scrapes and bruises. The padding is foam and is not separable from the fabric covering. The cloth covering is smooth and stretchy., and keeps the pads in position. The online description says the guards are machine washable, but there are absolutely no tags or other info provided to list the fabric contents or provide laundering instructions. I expect regular washing will be fine, but I think I'll line-dry them just to be safe.

Good for the money
I would prefer a harder material to protect the shins, but it is comfortable and easy to use.

I wasn't expecting much, but these turned out awesome!
UPDATE: I've been putting these shin guard through the forest gauntlet, scraping them through sticker bushes, getting them poked by sharp sticks, dragged over abrasive rocks, the whole works. They haven't ripped yet and the elastic still holds tight. Now I am wondering if I should pick up several more pairs to last me a few years since it's hard to find simple shin guards like these. Never know if they might change the design or stop making them.I do a lot of bushwhacking through thick forest and often end up with shredded shins. I have a set of motorbiking shin guards, but they are heavy and bulky to carry around, and way overkill. I wanted something much lighter weight with just enough padding to keep my skin from ripping off my bones when hitting a sharp stick. These shin guards are exactly what I needed.1. They are super light weight and won't add much to your pack weight or leg weight, which means they can come along on hikes even if I don't plan on going off the trail. The option is still available though.2. If you have long-skinny legs, they are plenty long to cover from below the knee to just above the ankle. They also hold tight and don't slip down too easily.3. They can easily double as sitting pads when not in shin use. If I want to sit on a wet log, I can toss one of the shin pads down and keep my butt dry.4. The pads can be pulled up over my knees if I need to kneel down, making them double as knee pads.5. Even after some torture through sticker bushes and quite a few miles of brush and branches, they are showing no signs of falling apart.Downsides? I think if someone was using these on bare skin for actual soccer, and sweating a lot, they might creep down the leg a bit much while running around. I run mine over socks and sometimes over my pants, so I don't deal with the slipping much.

Could be improved
I have shin guards but they are not very heavy duty, and the foam part that touches your shin is sort of hard, so it still hurts when I try to block someone's kick. I got these to wear under my workout pants so I could out my shin guards on top. This resolved my problem. These feel very comfortable and are light weight. The product does its job and the size chart did help me get the right size. The only thing is that I wish they had made the pad removable so I could wash the cover separately.

If you need to work on your knees a lot, get these instead of knee pads
I taught mixed martial arts for a number of years and would use these to protect my shins from children and older adults who couldn't get their kicks high enough. What I discovered is that when I was kneeling (you must with children), my knees no longer made contact with the floor! I'd wear them all the time when working with the kids, whether we were sparring or not.Since then I use these whenever I need to kneel (except in Church) and recommend them to others such as flooring professionals. Knee pads still make your knees sore. These don't hurt anything. You can kneel for hours without pain.
