Beastgrip - Pro Series 3X Telephoto Lens for iPhone

I think so is a great product for iOS users not for android. I have problem with my item shipping maybe in the future I will from those products.

This lens works very well. Sharp picture and easy to install. I highly recommend it.

Before I bash this product, let me say that I am a fan of Beastgrip's lenses. I have their 37mm Anamorphic lens and it works wonders for me on my Sony RX0 II. I think their products are well built and probably on a higher standard than the Moment v2 lenses that I own as well.The glass on the product is high quality and the amount of telephoto zoom is great. 3X is unheard in this market space where everyone else only has 2X. The actual image quality of the image is pretty good. It resolves well in the center but there is noticeable distortion and aberration towards the edges. My setup was the 24MM FF equivalent lens on a Sony RX0 II so it is a bit wide and you can see vignetting under certain circumstances. So given that, I think that on a 26MM equivalent standard phone lens, it would be slightly better and very effective on a phone's 52MM equivalent telephoto lens which would result in an insane optical zoom factor.Anyway, regardless, it didn't work for me because the coverage wasn't unacceptable on the Sony RX0 II, I had to crop it in to about 120% to get past the edge imperfections.Now here is where the bad comes in, the reason why the image vignettes is because they use a proprietary bayonet mount ON TOP of the standard 37mm threaded mount. Now if you're buying this to put onto a phone cage that isn't a BeastGrip cage, you have to note that you will need an additional 2mm of clearance to account for the bayonet mount. Luckily I had a random cage that had this flaw (which is not what you want in a camera cage because of light leaks), so I was able to test the lens, but otherwise, you cannot use this lens on anything except a BeastGrip cage.Conclusion - Do not spend $195 on this lens if you do not have a BeastGrip cage. It will only work on one of those unless you have an extreme work around.To Beastgrip - This is 2019, everyone is making universal 37mm filters/lens setups. I love your Anamorphic lens, why does this have a stupid proprietary bayonet mount on top of the 37mm thread?

Did not fit the beastgrip cage that I had. Unfortunately could not keep it due to vignetting.

Bought this for my IPhone 11 Pro Max. Absolutely pointless. Is a high quality product and the price is justified in my opinion. However, The amount of zoom really doesn’t add anything, in fact, I will say it limits it.On the iPhone 11 Pro Max you cannot put this lens over the telephoto lens. You are limited to the main lens only so your digital zoom is limited to 1x-2x only on a scale of 10x.The IPhone 11 Pro Max uses all three lenses simultaneously! So for this lens to make a difference they would have to open up the back of the lens to read 3 lenses at once and not just one.
