perfect for my landmann smoker
The gasket tape was just the right material for my landmann smoker. I bought three packs but used two packs because I also gasketed the water tray door and the chip door. The 5/8" X 1/8" size was exactly what I wanted. However I did not use the cement tube that came with the tape because previous reviews said they were not good. I bought and used the permatex gasket adhesive instead. Installation was so easy. No mess at all and the curing time for the adhesive of one hour was more than enough to complete my work without any hurrying at all. After two days, I fired it for smoking brined mackerel for 3 hours today. There was no leak at all in the main smoker compartment. A little leak came out of the water tray and chip tray compartments but I think I can fix that too by added some more permatex. Smoked mackerel came out just right and I was real happy with it. Glad I picked the tape type instead of the rope because it laid flat along the edges of the landmann smoker for a perfect fit. Would gladly recommend the product. Time will tell though how long it will last but right now it looked good.p.s.Word of advise though. Should mention that I have to change the 2 magnetic door latches on my Landmann 3895 smoker with mechanical latches otherwise adding 1/8" thick gaskets around the door edges will not work because the magnetic latches will not catch, regardless of what brand of gasket you use. Once you've made the upgrade like I did, then and only then will gasketing work. Sorry but I have to mention this.

Great product!
I am hesitate to do things I have not done before. But when my chimney sweep showed up, he said he "forgot" the gasket. I told him to get back on the truck. You do not show up and do 1/2 a job. I ordered the kit. I went to YouTube and entered "replace wood stove gasket" I watched a couple of times and took it on. I followed the instructions. I used a flat head screw driver to scrap down to the iron. I used air to blow off the filings. I applied the cement then wipe the access with my finger. I laid in the gasket. I pressed it into the channel around the door. I put it back on the stove and heated to 500 degrees as recommend. I checked it the next day to find a perfect fit, better than the original. If I can do it, you can do it!Just a little add on. After I did this gasket, I noticed the gasket on the ash drawer was loose. Within the kit there is enough gasket material to do the lower door. That will be my next project. Remember the more secure your gaskets are the hotter your stove will burn and the more efficiently it will run. I am pleased that this kit allowed me to learn a new skill. I know it's not a big deal but anything I can do to improve my self worth really helps. Being disabled I cannot do the things I used to do. So every little bit helps.

Good replacement gasket for Big Green Egg
Note that if you are replacing both the upper and lower gaskets on your Big Green Egg, you will need 2 of these packets. Otherwise, i found this pretty easy to use. After I scraped off the old gasket, I used the enclosed cement to attach this gasket to the ceramic egg. I found the cement very difficult to work with, which is why i am not giving this 5 stars. Otherwise i have a good seal with the new gasket.

Love, love, love it! Great mod to the Green Egg
Love, love, love it! After scraping the old gasket off and cleaning with denatured alcohol, I taped off the outside ring and inside of the green egg. Despite being sooted up, the tape held (blue painters tape). I then bought the highest heat rtv from the autoparts store (red/orange color) and applied a bead and smoothed it out with a putty knife. I then started laying the tape and pushed it against itself to create a wider tape (like the old chinese handcuff toys) and pushed it down into the rtv. This covered the area of the rtv nicely and made for a wider application. I had around 2" left of the tape to trim off. Afterwards, I used my plumbing torch to burn off the stray "hairs" that were poking out. No need to do the upper half as this stuff is nice and thick. Pull the painters tape afterwards and you will have a nice job. No need to take apart the green egg for this. Use a good scraper (painters multitool) to remove the old felt/gasket. I should have done this years ago! Took around 30-45 minutes to accomplish. Don't rush it!

a great replacement for the big Green egg
I use this gasket to replace the felt one that goes on my big Green egg. I found a website where people talked about this before trying to do it myself. The felt gasket on the egg will last approximately 4 to 6 months depending on how much you use your grill. After that it starts to get greasy and lifting up on certain places. This is the second time that I have used this gasket kit tape. The first time I used it was three years ago. I am a person that grills 4 to 5 times a week, so I would say I used my grill more than most. You can buy three of these kits for the same prize as one application of the big Green egg felt gasket. When you use the felt gasket, you apply one to the top as well as the bottom of the egg. However, with this kit I just apply it to the bottom. Be careful putting the black adhesive around the rim of your grill because it can be messy. If you take your time it will come out very well

buy square
5/8"x 3/16" was too small to seal the door of a small stove completely

Great product at a reasonable price
Bought this to replace the door gasket on my wood burning stove. Manufacturer of my stove says to replace this door gasket every year. It was simple and easy to do. Took the old gasket off with a razor blade. Then cleaned the area with acetone to remove any other glue and soot. Measured the size i needed to fit the door. There was plenty of gasket material for next years change. I applied the adhesive ( there is more than enough adhesive ) as described in the instructions. Now i'm ready for this winters cold weather. Thanks for a great product at a reasonable price.
