So far no bulbs have burned out and we've had them for a little over a month, but they go on in our backyard for about 6 hours every night, so we run them quite often. I like the look of the bulbs, but it's true they are very fragile, so if you have pets or kids around I'd say keep them out of reach, and they also wouldn't withstand a lot of wind.
