Strianese D.O.P. San Marzano Tomatoes 14 Oz Can Pack of 6

The taste confirms the color - these are just lovely. There's a broad range of canned tomatoes out there, some using a (marketing) suggestion that what's in the can comes from San Marzano, though in reality very few do come from there (more like surrounding areas, at best). But this is the real deal, and when you see the price and taste the freshness and freshly-picked flavors, you know it. I've noticed a lot of price fluctuation on these in the past, so it pays to watch them regularly and load up when a temporary (price) drop finds its way to the most delicious of (canned) Italian plum tomatoes I've yet found.

ordered the product it came dented..wouldn't replace ..wanted to 20 cents off a $11 can of TOMATOESdo not shop here..total ripoff!! the can is only worth $2!

Not worth the $10 per can. They are not bad, but I could tell no difference from locally purchased tomatoes.

These are nicely mild, sweet tomatoes. There is a lot of liquid in the can however, and when processed for pizza sauce the resulting consistency was too watery. I'd say you'd need to cook these down quite a bit if you like a thicker sauce.Tasty but not suited to my needs.

I have purchased a variety of DOP tomatoes in the past. Typically I been disappointed. I usually find that California products taste markedly better. The DOP tomatoes I have tried previously turned out to be mealy, and tinny tasting.These tomatoes on the other hand, had a bright taste and a balance of sweetness and acidity that made a very good marinara. I have not used up this shipment so I don't know if every can is as good as this lot, but if so, these Strianese tomatoes, some garlic, a couple table spoons of olive oil, a pinch of crushed red pepper, salt and pepper are all that is necessary for happiness.

These. are. so. good. These are the real deal San Marzano tomatoes. I waited a long time to pull the trigger on these, but I will not go back. These instantly elevate your sauces to the next level and all you have to do is splurge on them. When I make sauce for the kids... they get Hunts -- When I make sauces for the parents - I use these. Don't judge. Luxury.

I ordered one case of these tomatoes. I received one can. I can find no way to get my $16+ back. Very disappointed in Amazon Never had this issue before. M. Hatfield

These tomatoes make all the difference in a simple great sauce. I simmer them just a little to concentrate the flavors using olive oil, salt, and a pinch of Sicilian spice blend. At the end, toss in a little fresh basil. Great over pasta but best with my favorite - pizza Margherita.Some have commented on the condition of the cans; I've ordered these literally by the dozen and have received cans in perfect condition from the vendor Taylor's Market.
