Finally, a book with total transparency about what works, what doesn't and why.
John answers so many questions about what works, what doesn't and why in regard to fat loss, muscle gain, and many other aspects of nutrition and fitness. His transparency when it comes to mistakes he's made and what he learned from them is refreshing. He is one of the few coaches, you will find, that continues to learn and adjust his practice based on new information and research to provide the most effective path for his clients to get results. I read this book in one sitting and plan to restart it now and take notes. Everyone from beginner to pro should own this book. Thank you to John for his excellent work, his honesty, and his dedication to continuing to learn and expand for the best interest of those he has the opportunity to impact.

Great read!
The thing I love about this book is often times we can be too scared to ask a coach questions if we aren’t currently under a coach. Even the smallest of questions for me. However, a number of those questions are answered in this book. Macro calculation is something I struggle with and John breaks it down piece by piece and makes it so easy in this book. Highly recommend grabbing one!

Very education - I couldn't put the book down.
This book answered all the questions I had about training and diet. And the one question I still had, I asked John on Instagram and he wrote right back and answered it for me.For example, I always questioned the fact that your body could only absorb 20g of protein at a time. How could you set that amount to 20g for every person when I am twice the size of my wife, it just didn't make sense. John clarifies this in his book and answers a bunch of other questions that I had.It's an easy and informative read, I read the whole book in one day and couldn't put it down until I was done reading it. If you are into diet and weight lifting then snag this book today and stop wasting your time doing things the wrong way.

A must read for beginners through the most seasoned coaches.
Regardless of the point you are at your personal journey related to fitness or nutrition, this is a must read for you. In this book, John lays out everything from establishing an initial fitness plan to initial macros. He does a great job of delivering the information he's gained at a fitness and nutrition professional over 10 plus years in the fitness industry in a unique question and answer format that I've never seen before. Because of the format, the book is more like a discussion directly with you, the reader vs. a lecture in a classroom. This makes the book easy to read, simple to understand, and detailed enough to get even the novice well on their way to success. I highly recommend this book for the fitness professional as well as beginner through seasoned athletes.

Awesome Read!
This book by John Gorman was great! He really dives deep into various topics that and provides great advice to take note of from someone who has worked in the fitness industry for many years. I enjoyed that he not only touched on fitness and dieting advice but also coaching advice for others who are currently in or getting started in the fitness industry. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants more knowledge on working out and nutrition.

This book is very easy to read and helpful. John is one of the most respected and best coaches in the industry if you ask me. I love his passion for this & he continues to study & share the latest information. Simple read full of valuable info!
As someone who has battled being overweight for the first half of my life, I struggled with yo-yo dieting and trying many fad diets. Now in my late 30s I have achieved a lifetime weight loss of over 80 pounds from my heaviest and its due to the sound information coaches like John Gorman share. Ask A Diet Coach is an easy read and contains good information for anyone looking to expand their knowledge for their fitness and business goals. I often find it's tough for people just starting out on their fitness journeys running into complicated information. John Gorman keeps it simple! This is a great book for your collection!

Practical & Valuable Information
“Ask A Diet Coach” by John Gorman is a phenomenal book. I wish I had read it 14 years ago when I first started training. John is a very knowledgeable and well respected fitness coach in the industry that provides a ton of value and this book is no exception. In this book you can expect some really great questions pertaining to nutrition, training, supplementation, business, and more. It’s straight to the point and very practical. If you are a trainer, a competitor, or someone who is just looking to improve their approach to all things fitness you have to get this book.
