Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1977 album from the Soul great. Thelma Houston first signed with Motown records in 1971. In 1977, Motown assembled a second Thelma Houston album Any Way You Like It and included was a cover that altered Thelma's career trajectory forever - her take on 'Don't Leave Me This Way,' a track from a 1975 album by Philadelphia International Records group Harold Melvin & the Bluenotes. After a Boston record pool of club DJs began playing it and getting immediate reaction, it was released as a single and became a Grammy-winning global hit for Thelma, topping the US pop, R&B and dance charts. This expanded edition of Any Way You Like It includes six bonus tracks: The single version of 'Don't Leave Me This Way' and it's non-LP "B" side 'Today Will Soon Be Yesterday'); non-album singles, the Grammy-winning 'You've Been Doing Wrong So Long' and 'One Out of Every Six'; and Thelma's long sought-after ultra-rare version of 'Do You Know Where You're Going To' (only ever issued in New Zealand), subsequently recorded by Diana Ross as the theme for her 2nd film, "Mahogany" along with the "B" side, 'Together'.

A Thelma's masterpiece.
This was Ms. Houston's hit maker album from the 70's with the remake of "Don't leave me this way." "Anyway way you like it" has good lyrics but the music don't make justice to it. Interesting liner notes. I'm surprised with Ms. Houston testimonial of how theme from "Mahogany" ended sung by Diana Ross for the movie and album. For an album originally released in 1976 it is a delight to listen to it today. I'm still hoping that her "Ready to roll" album from 1978 can be released on CD.

NOTHING LIKE THIS ONE
This is Whitney's aunt, which most people don't know. Her style is of 25 years before Whitney, but she is good. Many of yer sangs haunt me with their smoothness and lyrics. I have several copies, in case something happens to one of the. Try this one out.

glad finally got it
RARE to find on CD, glad finally got it...The monster hit being "Don't Leave Me This Way"....But there are quite a few other disco/funky tunes in addition to other styles from Ms.Houston..She certainly had gotten better with each release after this one, BUT this CD brought her to the top of the charts........

Wonderful
This project should have gone triple platinum when it was released in 1976, however, it didn't to my knowledge, but it's not too late, now. Wonderful voice, good songs & production, who can ask for anything more. I can't wait for her next rereleases on Motown. Treat yourself to this one ladies and gents.

So nice to have this classic album finally available on CD ...
So nice to have this classic album finally available on CD - along with several rare tracks that fit perfectly with the album. I hope they'll do something similar for Thelma Houston's follow-up albums on Motown!

Thelma Houston
