Best to use on free standing tub

Makes for a really easy installation
Have always seen plumbers struggle with free standing tub installs. My wife and I installed our tub in 20 min thanks to this drain

Will use again
This drain is pretty good and easy to install. Perfect for free standing tubs on a concrete slab.

Installed it to spec. And leaks
Water comes up the slip joint and over between the gray mounting bracket. I think the o ring is too small. It fits down well into the socket. Contacting them in the morning glad the curling below is still out. I don’t know if I would trust their system if you don’t have a way to check after the install no leak before pushing it down. More of a wicking type of problem

REQUIRES 10 5/8" SUBFLOOR SPACE
Bought this to install my new freestanding tub on 2nd floor. But the part sticks down into the subfloor an absurd amount. I couldn't fit a P-Trap in underneath this part as shown in the installation instructions. I couldn't use it and had to return. Not sure why Maax designed a product that wont work with 8" or 10" floor joists. There's no reason for the product to be this tall. If you have joists this size, you'll need to use a generic or 3rd party adapter.
