Needs improving
I really wanted to write a good review on this ButtonsUcover brand, but unfortunately I could only give 3 stars.I have used the Maxant brand for years and every now and then I will have one or two buttons pops out after compressing, this can be affected by the thickness of the fabric you are working with, or just by you not doing such a good job in pressing the two sides (cover shell & back disc) properly enough while in the plastic holder! But when it comes to the ButtonsUcover I’ve lost half the pack of back disc because they just wouldnot sit in the front cover shell snuggly enough.I used these for tufted back seat Cushion and I really had a hard time keeping some of these from popping out once the two sides of metal was fully press/pushed into and over the fabric in use. I cannot buy again even though the price is good and some of the buttons came out well, but half the packet had to be discarded.

The template is easy to use and just the right size
I bought these for a tufted headboard I was making and they worked really well for me. I didn't use very thick fabric though, more a light linen (not my original intent) and so I can't speak to the complaints about them not working well with thick fabric. The template is easy to use and just the right size, but since it's clear it's easy to lose in a messy crafting space. While tufting I only had one button out of 33 pop off, and it was the button hook that failed. I did need to use a hammer to pound the backing in sometimes, and a couple I used superglue on just in case fabric edges slipped out.My hand is for scale in the photo.

These are perfect for anything you need a matching button for. I would say these work well with light to medium fabric, Have not tried them with heavy upholstery fabric.

Great DIY project
So much fun to make these! The paper instructions are not 100% clear, but the picture tutorial online (once you find it) makes total sense. I had trouble assembling these using just my thumbs, but I found that the handle of a silicone or wooden spoon works great. Beware - this is a fun and addictive hobby!

Goes to trash, low quality
Low quality, not even worth to use, I get to just trash these bottoms.

Don’t buy
These suck. You cannot use these for Upholstry fabric. Waste of money and time.
