Allegro Coffee, Organic, Italian Roast, Whole Bean, 12 oz

I like it. I like this batch of Allegro. It's dark brown (lighter than a full dark roast) and oily, which is to be expected from a medium-dark roast. I only tried it as a single-shot espresso, and it is surprisingly true to expectations; you can still taste the "medium roast" character of the beans, but the acidity is gone, and bitter is ramping up, but overall not too "intense." It's like a medium roast with a bit more bitter and no acidity. I usually buy Kicking Horse, but this batch of Allegro is unmatched. Coffee is a produce, so it's not all the same every batch!

Hi All, notice this coffee is Italian Roast which means it is dark...Bold...Rich and Smooth. Need more? In Bean form I can grind for any type, (style) of coffee maker there is, so I do pour over, perk, latte, Espresso. My favorite is Espresso into Americano, and this roast has not disappoint me yet. I am so pleased with Allegro coffee, because they seem to really know what coffee is like in Italy. My first Espresso was prepared by an Italian Yacht maker, and I fell in love with it on the first sip. That's what I remember when I brew this coffee. Simply Italian. Did you notice the low price?

This is the only mass-market coffee we have used that tastes like the Italian coffee you get in Italy. You may be able to get an Italian roast from your local coffee store, but if you want to order one online, this is the ONE. We've tried buying Lavazza and Kimbo coffee beans online but they are usually old and stale due to the shipping and storage time it takes to come from Italy to the U.S. . We have found that as long as this Allegro coffee is fresh (based on the date), the Italian Roast has an amazing flavor. Also, we have tried it in milk drinks like lattes and the flavor is really good. Usually, the coffee experts say you need a true dark "espresso roast" to make a good latte, but this medium dark roast from Allegro works great for us.

The coffee has a really good taste — although it’s labeled as medium roast, it’s quite strong, almost like a medium-dark, which I actually enjoy. The only issue was delivery timing: Amazon said it would arrive in the morning, but it was delivered in the evening. Otherwise, great flavor and worth buying again!

Roasted just right. Beans oily but not too oily. The pre-ground italian roast beans just really don't have the depth of flavor of the beans have when freshly ground. I have some whole guatemala beans that just medium roast (I love dark or medium dark roast coffee). I wondered if the two could recreate the Verona coffee. I ground an equal amount of the two and voila, real close match!

Like a lot. Is a Medium Dark roast. Thought was medium roast, because I wanted the most healthy so far as polyphenols. But it is not all the way roasted and I mix with medium roast for the taste; half and half.

Flavor was good, but did they really have to send me beans that expire in a few weeks? Not crazy about that. Everyone knows that the fresher the better, so I'm getting somewhat stale flavor already. ☹️

I have been drinking this coffee for years and I never tire of it. Full-bodied and velvety, I look forward to it every morning, and so appreciate consistent quality
