Yrene Towers, a healer, has no desire to help the young lord, yet she has sworn an oath to assist those in need and she will honor it-despite the shadows from his past, which could engulf them both. While they become entangled in the political webs of the khaganate, deep in the mountains, long-awaited answers slumber. Answers that might offer their world a chance at survival-or doom them all . . .

Review: A Vital Installment In The Series - “You would be surprised by how closely the healing of physical wounds is tied to the healing of emotional ones.” Before starting ‘Tower Of Dawn’ I was aware of the fact that it differed slightly from the previous books in the series, primarily following Chaol and Nesryn on their journey across the sea and following a timeline that ran parallel to the last addition of the series. I can understand why this would frustrate some readers – at least when these books were first released and they had to wait an extra year to find out exactly what would happen with Aelin – yet I was actually pretty excited to dive into this book. Exploring more of this glorious world? Obviously I was intrigued...plus I had hopes that a character I adored from ‘The Assassin’s Blade’ would make a reappearance. Although this book misses the majority of its previous major points of view, including its main one, to me it definitely felt like another instalment and not a companion. It didn’t feel like a detour in any way. It read the same; it kept me just as engaged and addicted to the text. Plus it contained some truly monumental developments that caught me utterly off guard. It’s a must read for fans of the series and one hell of an addictive thrill ride. As this book explores a whole other stretch of land – with its own ruling system and beliefs – there are a lot of new characters introduced. The major ones, the Khagan and his family, fascinated me immensely. I loved getting to learn about each and every one of them, as well as exploring the landscape, discovering some of its history and travelling some rather unexpected roads. The familiar face I was hoping for featured heavily – much to my delight – as well as another familiar figure that I wasn’t expecting. It truly staggers me to think upon just how much planning must have went into this series, looking back over all the little links from earlier on. At times in the previous books I will admit that Chaol’s attitude towards those he’s cared for has irritated me but I truly did adore this book. So if you’ve ever felt similarly don’t let that put you off. This book is certainly a must read. There are so many new characters to meet, so much information to uncover, so many twists and turns to revel in. The romance involved melted my heart. The exploration of this new land fascinated me. And I adored every moment of this reading experience. So yes it goes without saying that I recommend this book and majorly cannot wait to dive into the finale of this series.
Review: Breathtakingly good - Tower of Dawn is a breathtaking and deeply moving installment in the Throne of Glass series that proves healing, growth, and hope can be just as powerful as war and magic. Often underestimated, this novel shines with emotional depth, rich world-building, and unforgettable character development. At its heart, Tower of Dawn is Chaol Westfall’s redemption story—and what a journey it is. Watching Chaol confront his guilt, trauma, and shattered identity is raw, honest, and incredibly human. His struggles feel real, his anger and self-blame palpable, and his slow path toward self-acceptance is written with remarkable care. His relationship with Yrene Towers is one of the most beautifully developed arcs in the entire series, blending vulnerability, strength, and healing into something truly special. The Southern Continent is vivid and lush, offering a refreshing expansion of the world. The culture, politics, and history add depth to the overarching story, while the mysteries uncovered within the Torre Cesme are both chilling and fascinating. Every revelation feels purposeful, seamlessly tying into the larger narrative and raising the stakes for what’s to come. What makes Tower of Dawn exceptional is its message: that healing is not linear, that strength can be found in softness, and that facing one’s past is often the bravest act of all. This book is not just a companion to the main storyline—it’s an essential piece of the saga that enriches the emotional and thematic weight of the entire series. Powerful, introspective, and beautifully written, Tower of Dawn transforms perception and rewards patience. It is a story of light after darkness, and it leaves a lasting impact long after the final page is turned.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Read It Now, Or May The Valg Get You!
*by B***X on 23 October 2017*

If you're a Chaol fan, you're about to enter book Heaven. Enjoy the ride. This is a book entirely devoted to him and a few secondary characters Maas is developing ready to mesh into the wider story in the next book. Fortunately, this doesn't read like a filler book (considering that's basically what it is) and despite featuring what is largely a whole new kingdom, with new characters and new mythology to get your head around - this book is easily as good as the others before it. What am I saying?! All that new stuff sounds delicious! So Chaol is on a mission, with Nesryn, to build upon Aelin's army. She needs more help, and Antica might be just where she can find them. But the banners hang white around Khagan's castle; a murder of his youngest daughter, or a suicide? So he's not feeling up to listening to Chaol bang on about how wonderful helping Aelin might be. And that's not forgetting the distinct disadvantage Chaol now has of not being able to hold his own in battle. Enter Yrene. A healer, who might just know how to bust the darkness right out of Chaol's destroyed spine as well as find the information Chaol might need to convince the Khagan. You are going to love Yrene. She's the typical bad-ass female character, although not quite as wonderful as Manon because..she's not Manon, and she doesn't have a Wyvern! But she's also painfully intelligent and has her own backstory (which ties in somehow to Aelin's - I can't wait for them to meet!!). And whilst Chaol and Yrene get down to fixing him up and searching the libraries for information about the Valg, Nesryn and one of the King's sons are off on their own adventure full of dark spiders, evil Valg bedtime stories and a couple of magnificent creatures known as Ruks who might give the Wyverns a run for their money. Sadly not as high on the cute scale though. Whilst it might be a concern that all of these new characters couldn't possible be as great as the ones you've already become attached to, worry not - because once again Maas managed to make me become utterly, embarrassingly, attached to even the most secondary character. And she has mercifully cut down on the cringe-worthy love scenes (because her sexy time stories are painfully cringe for some reason I can't quite place). I couldn't have asked for more. I love the way that Maas always manages to weave her smaller stories, or other characters from her books, into each of the other books. Such a complex level of storytelling is beyond my small-ish imaginations abilities and as such, when something crops up (like a link to one of her Novella's from the Assassin's Blade collection, or a distant relative to another beloved character) I fall more and more in love with her world-building as the realistion hits. It's so damn clever, perfectly rich and beautifully written and you know what? It's utterly addictive. Again! I thought I might be disappointed with a book just about Chaol and Nesryn. A book "just" about Chaol and Nesryn indeed. How wrong I was. Read it now, or may the Valg get you!
