I purchased one from Best Buy and it stopped working after about a week. I returned it a got a replacement and now that one is not working well. The Samsung one from Amazon is working great so far! I think this one will last. I haven't had it very long so can't rate the durability, etc. But I'm happy so far. And it arrived very quickly, too!

The primary reason I needed this cable was to connect my Samsung Galaxy S4 to my computer because I am developing Android apps, and having an extra cable with me while I'm at school would be convenient. I noticed mixed reviews for most of the other cables out there, but the reviews for this particular cable seemed generally positive overall so I decided to give it a shot.------------------------FUNCTIONALITY------------------------Unfortunately, the cable does not work as it should. First of all, when I use it to plug my device in to my computer (a USB 3.0 port), it charges my device but did not connect my phone as a media device. I tried a different USB port on my computer (this time not a USB 3.0 port), but the same problem remained. Therefore I could not use it to run the apps I am developing. Because the product does not fulfill its purpose 100%, it is 100% flawed and should not even merit 1 star.----------------------------CHARGING ABILITY----------------------------The charging is another issue. It is slow, compared to when I use my OEM cable to charge. I noticed that when I play a game while charging, the battery is actually slowly draining. When I am surfing the web on a browser, the percentage remains the same. I had no such issues with my OEM cable. When I am charging with my OEM cable, it doesn't matter what I'm doing - it's going to keep charging. If my device is idle, it charges fine with this cable, but because of the aforementioned drawbacks, it makes it a sub-optimal product for simultaneous usage and charging.Because I cannot use this cable to connect my device to my computer, I will most likely use it to charge my phone at nights when I am sleeping, and take my OEM cable with me to school.------------------------------PHYSICAL ASPECTS------------------------------The length of the cable is 5 feet as advertised. It is a little thinner than my OEM cable. Connecting the micro USB end of the cable to my phone requires a little more effort and is a fairly tight fit. With my OEM cable, it fits easily but securely. With this cable, it feels like I have to jam it in.------------------------FINAL ADVICE------------------------Look somewhere else if you need a fully-functional cable to charge your phone and connect to your computer; this cable will not satisfy those purposes. I will be looking in other places as well so that I can keep my OEM cable safely at home. I've read other reviews reporting that this cable worked on their Galaxy S4, so this cable should be compatible with my device. Maybe I received a faulty cable? Who knows. I'd rather not spend the time and effort working out a refund/replacement.Hope this is helpful to other customers with a Galaxy S4.

I purchased 2 cables. They both work when it comes to charging my Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Tab3 7.0, but only one of the two cables will charge my Galaxy Tab3 8.0. I have 4 of the original white cables (from the S5, S4, Tab3 8.0, Tab3 7.0) and none have a problem on any of the four devices. I have generic 10' micro USB cables, but they start to fall out after a few months (the OEM plastic is better than the generic rubber when you accidentally bend the cable while it's plugged into the device). Since the OEM cables are 5', I figured I try a couple more even though I preferred the 10' lengths. Looks like the kids will be getting the one that won't charge my tablet.Now that one of the new cables won't charge my Tab3 8.0, I think I'll look into purchasing a few more USB extension cables (I use them in my vehicle so others can charge when necessary without having to stretch across the vehicle).I don't think these are OEM (since one of my tablets won't charge), but they look and feel like the originals (in black instead of white). If you are looking for your phone, then you shouldn't have a problem. If you're looking for your tablet, then you might want to get a couple of them just in case, or pay more from a retail store where you know it will be OEM.

I got this in the mail two days after I ordered it. #winI should have done an unboxing video, but it turns out that the phone I would record the video with was dead due to the fact that this was the cord I ordered to charge it. Maybe next time!I got this bad boy out of the package and was immediately impressed. The connectors are really shiny.. I was also pleased with the font that was used to print the "usb" logos on the ends of the connectors. It was very easy to read and very informational! I've learned so much.If you need something to charge your phone, you can't pass up this deal! Be the envy of your friends and family when they see you charging your device with the rolls-royce of phone chargers. Have that "Christmas Morning" feeling every time you plug in your phone!(Disclaimer: I do actually own this charging cable. It DOES actually work really well. Samsung actually did NOT pay me to write this review, sadly... You should buy this if you need one. It's cheap and it works. Case closed.)

I've had this USB Charging Data Cable for about a week and a half now, and so far it works perfectly. It is described as a Samsung USB cable on the product page; nonetheless, you should know that there isn't anything on the cable itself which proclaims it as an authentic Samsung cable. That being said, when compared with my Samsung Galaxy 4's original data/charging cable, this one functions just as well as the other. I actually purchased this cable as an extra phone charger to use with my car charger. Prior to using the cable with my car charger; however, I did conduct a couple of experiments, to make sure it would charge my phone just as quickly as the original cable and also to ascertain that I could use it to transfer data. In both areas this cable functions just as well as the original Samsung cable. Consequently, I am very happy with this product--shoot for $5 I'm ecstatic! If anything changes, I shall, of course, update my review. Happy shopping!
