For the price and excellent quality of the build, this is probably the best value for the dollar for external NVMe enclosures. I bought this because I upgraded my NVMe and wanted to keep the old one for portable storage.1) The instructions were well written with picture tutorials and number matched parts.2) When put together, everything fits perfectly. The package also includes foam fittings that can make your card fit nice and snug without internal rattling. I really liked the internal heat sink.3) There are spare screws and heat pads which is a nice thought.4) Overall solid construction that doesn't get too warm under heavy use.5) Includes two USB-c to USB-a cables, where one of them is a spare.I am getting about 3.4 Gbps/2.5 Gbps average speed using the included cord connected to a 5Gbps 3.1 Gen 1 USB port with Ubuntu installed on a Lenovo laptop. The NVMe is a 3 year old SAMSUNG MZVLW256HEHP. It would likely be closer to 5Gbps if I was using Windows and the Lenovo drivers(?), so the device works very well given the circumstances. When/if i use it on a native setup and/or use a 10 Gbps 3.1 gen 2 port I will update the review.

I paired this with a 1TB Crucial P1 NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive (CT1000P 188D8) and it works like a charm. As a traveling photographer, I need be smart about how I might be weighing myself down on the go. My tested and confirmed workflow is to attach a USB C hub to my iPad Pro and then attach this drive as well as a CF Express / XQD reader to the same hub. Transfer speed was quick enough for my purposes. Maybe some day I’ll run a benchmark - but my observation is that it’s quick enough for what I need.Here’s what’s good:1. the package included everything needed to pair with my SSD including a small screw driver2. build quality is great and the size is about as small as you can get to have effective passive cooling3. the included instructions are very good and clearly walked me through a quick setup4. drive quickly recognized by my MacBook so I could format it to my file system of choice5. file transfers are speedyI’ve seen some other reviews complaining about connectivity. Haven’t experienced that issue with my use case.Some others complain about small screws. Yes, they’re small because the device itself is small. Good observation.Overall, this was a good purchase and good value for a relatively low price.

I’m not exactly sure what some of the reviewers of this product are all about ... claiming that the enclosure is plastic, etc. Absolutely not the case. The enclosure and separate heat sync are 100% finned aluminum. The enclosure came as a full kit. We received the main enclosure, ssd board, separate heat sync, two strips of heat sync tape, screws, screwdriver, spacer foam, front cover and two cables (usb-c to usb-c and usb to usb-c). The enclosure uses a usb-c connector.Installation of our 256 Gig WD (short) ssd was easy. It just snapped into the connector and then held down with the special spacer and screw provided. We then cut the heat sync tape to size and secured it to the top of the ssd. You then screw down the aluminum heat sync on top of the ssd ... flip over the board and secure the foam spacer. You then slide the board into the main enclosure and attach the front plate with the supplied screws. That’s all their is to it.In our case we used a WD 256 Gig ssd that was supplied with my Dell Inspiron XPS laptop. (I upgraded the Dell to a 512 Gig ssd with a completely fresh install of Windows 10). We then reformatted the 256 Gig ssd so my son could use it as an external storage device with his Mac Book Pro. The enclosure worked as advertised. The Mac Book recognized the enclosure and ssd without any issue. We then reformatted it using Mac Disk Utility and that was that! Also, their is a white LED power indicator light that shines through a hole in the front cover indicating power.The whole package is exactly as advertised and works great. I can highly recommend this if you are cloning one ssd to another or ( like us) setting it up as an external storage device. 5 stars!

Muy buen producto. Por ser envío internacional, consideren de 10-12 días para su llegada a México, pero créanme que vale la pena. Lo compré puesto que necesitaba migrar mi OS de un M.2 que vino con una laptop a uno nuevo que compré. El contenido de la caja viene completo, con su instructivo sencillo de como instalar correctamente la M.2 (vale tanto para las M.2 cortas y largas). Vienen incluido los cables de USB-A a C y USB-C a C, así como un desarmador ensamble.

Small screws to deal with, which makes it a bit tricky getting everything together, but the fact that they include extras of EVERY screw, an extra thermal strip, very clear instructions, and both USB-C and USB3 cables...couldn't ask for anything more.Could not recommend more highly. (And no - I was not promised or given anything for this review; it really is that good!)

Excellent product, including extra spare parts (screws, thermal pads, etc) is excellent. Very good speed as well.

Cuando lo instale fue muy facil. Trae todo lo necesario para instalarse. Solo tuve que crear una particion nueva porque era un disco duro completamente nuevo. Luego, todo funciono perfecto para hacer backups.

The enclosure is high quality aluminum. It was very easy to assemble. It comes with all the tools to assemble it. It also comes with heat sink and also cooling tape. Speed is not bad with usb c. A bit slower with usb 3.0. but over all it's a good sturdy device.
