France LuxeLong & Skinny Barrette, Africa - Classic French Design for Everyday Wear

Very long, very pretty, and well made. If you have the need for a long barrette, you will love this one.

This is a really nice barrette and the 3rd one by FL that I bought and kept. I did try a few others that I liked from them but unfortunately they were too large for my hair and I had to return them. It's only recently that I've been searching for something to use for a ponytail and that would hold my hair without it slipping out. My hair is very long (1/2 way down my back) but it's also on the thin side, although there's a lot of it. This is my 2nd 'long and skinny' barrette and it does hold my hair in place, as does the small rectangular one made by France Luxe. I thought the length of this one would look too large but it doesn't. I have worn my hair in a ponytail for quite some time now and got tired of using coated rubber bands and fabric bands which made dents and tore my hair out. This recent search has led me to the many, many different sizes, shapes and colors that are available on Amazon and the numerous companies that make them. I think FL hair accessories are very well made and the quality is evident, hence the higher price, but is worth it. The barrettes I had to return were just as nice and I'm sorry that they didn't work well for me otherwise I would have kept them. Some of the 'classic rectangle' barrettes were lovely and came in so many pretty colors, both the solids and prints and it's a shame that they aren't available in the size I need. Now that I've found France Luxe I am going to continue to buy from them!

It's beautiful and arrived as promised. The barrette is slender and wide, which is perfect for puffy hair. Unfortunately, I thought the clip would go well with everything but later realized that a white, cream color hair clip is not as flattering compared to a brown or black clip (at least for someone who has dark brown/ black hair). It was rather pricey at $20, but I cannot deny that the product is of good quality.

Another reviewer noted that this barrette could hold all of their thick hair. I was skeptical but it really can. For years I've had hair dressers comment that I have have the most hair they have worked with and this barrette managed to hold it all. I don't plan on using it to hold all my hair though because that is a lot of pressure and even though I know it will hold I don't want to risk breaking it. I'll use the volume barrettes for that, but this barrette comfortably holds half my hair up and off my face without budging an inch. It's pretty and super sturdy. Overall a great investment!

A quality barrette that can hold thicker hair without popping open. If you're like me then you know how hard that is to find! They are very attractive as well.

These are my all time favorite barrettes. I have thick, curly hair, and they don't pop out, dig in, or have the backing separate from the clamp--they actually hold my hair and stay in place. Plus, the styles available are very beautiful. I particularly like the long and skinny barrettes because they work both for clipping back part of the hair or for doing an updo and holding all my hair in place. France Luxe has quality workmanship that lasts years--unlike the cheapy Goody barrettes that break and bend. I highly recommend these barrettes, despite the premium price.

I have very thick and long hair and I like to wear it up in a type of French twist. I had a nice barrette I got a long time ago that was sturdy and long enough to fit all of my hair without any trouble but after years of use it broke. I looked EVERYWHERE for something comparable in stores and could not for the life of me find anything that was near the same in length with the same snap closure. I took a chance on this barrette and I'm so happy that I did! It is just what I needed and I love that it comes in so many different colors. Though it is skinny it feels sturdy and it's length is long enough to fit all of my hair. It is on the expensive side for a barrette but I have a feeling it's going to last for a long time and allow me to wear my hair up the way I like for years to come.***Update*** I had originally given this 5 stars but after owning 3 of these now I am not impressed with how short they last. I've had 2 now where the metal clasp has broken off from the plastic. I do have very thick hair, which is why I need the longer length barrettes, but I would think that for the steep price they would make it through more than a year of intermittent use. However, I will continue to buy them because I can't find anything else that will hold my hair up.

Pretty barette, nice and long but light and low- profile. Kind of expensive for what it is, and that's why I knocked it down a star (but hey, convenience counts and considering how crazy it can make me when my hair falls down into my eyes (it seems to grow that way so it happens a LOT) probably worth it. An improvement in emotional stability for $17.99? A bargain by anyone's standards!! I plan to order at least 1 more, maybe 2 😊

Very happy with my barrette. I have very fine hair, and it stays in place. I feel like it puts less strain hair than a ponytail.

France luxe really does make a superior product. I've tried lots of cheaper barettes and they all end up not being exactly right or not holding up. I have another France luxe barrette that I bought 5 years ago that is still great. I was on the hunt for a long skinny barrette hold my hair when I pile it up on top of my head. This barrette can also do half up styles well. I highly recommend!!!!!!

Excellent barrette. And it was delivered 2 days after I ordered it--amazing. I think the long skinny shape looks elegant. It doesn't hold a ton of hair, but it holds everything I need it to! I'm glad I bought it.

Even more beautiful than it looks in the picture. Very worth the money if you want one or two very nice hair pieces.
