Perfect stereo for my boat
Great stereo for my small boat. Been using for a few months now. Don't expect boat vibrating bass but sound quality is excellent throught the volume range. Has RCA plugs if you want to add an amp but I prefer to keep things simple. Bluetooth is a big plus and hookup was a breeze. Best part is the face is waterproof so no cover to open or close or remote to loose in a rocking boat to adjust the volume or station. Just hose off at the end of the day to get the fish slime off. Unit gets hot when in use. Have a feeling it will outlast my marine stereos I've purchased in the past most last a year or less. I'm a weekly user in salt water with lots of spray.

Lolve it
Well, I like it, not, you know, Love. It is a good stereo with some nice features. Mine is paired with some JBL speakers mounted on the side of my center console. They sound nice. Now I just pair the Blue thing with my cell and listen to the Blues on my Amazon playlist. Somebody mentioned that it gets hot but I would call it warm as what you are touching is the heat-sink for the amplifier. A watt is a watt is a watt. I don't see it as a problem. Easy to install, easy to use, nice sound, and compact.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE PRODUCT AND NOT THE SUPPLIER. >>> I purchased this product because if would fit into a cutout for an area on the boat where the tach use to be. I thought great idea and I wont have to cut any more holes in my boat. Especially if the unit fails or need replacing. The units looks great. It sounds good hooked up to four Kenwood 150 watt speakers and I don't need an amp. Now I hooked everything up before I did the complete install to make sure everything worked. On my last boat cut holes and installed everything and the system didn't work. Had to send everything and guess what. The next until l was a different size and so where the speakers. That was painful because I had holes in the boat now. Anyway back to this unit. As I was installing other things on my boat, I noticed that the unit was very hot. I thought, this odd, but I do recall hearing about that in another review. So I decided not to install the unit yet and turned it on to different days to see if the unit was really running hot. YES IT RUNS HOT. So I am now concerned that I will not be able to install the unit were I originally plan. The amount of heat might melt my console panel. It looks like if I decide to keep this unit I will have to cut a hole in the fiberclass to mount the unit. Not what I wanted to do. even in an alternate located it still runs hot.

Good Space Saving Unit But IF Space Not a Problem May Not Be Best..............
The radio works great, the USB music works OK, and the Bluetooth streaming works great now that the company operating as JBL for a handful of small auto, marine, and motorcycle devices such as this offers an update to the firmware. For this reason I am drastically changing my review to one more positive than before. The things that I still don't like about it is that it connects to my phone when the motorcycle is running or key is on while I would like it to wait until I power the device specifically by turning it on. It does not remember the last song played from a connected USB drive and it has no option to shuffle songs from the USB either. When switching to the USB it begins with the first song again every time. Finally, sometimes it will refuse to power up. When that happens I need to interrupt power to it completely for a moment. I don't want to turn off the motorcycle for that and so I installed a push-button switch that opens it's power connection by controlling the relay it's power is delivered through. On the up side it has low-level (AUX) inputs and pre-amp outs as well as four channel 40W amplifier. I use the pre-outs into the amp already built in to motorcycle. The PRV is waterproof and smallish. It was easy to mount in my motorcycle dash. Too bad it has these other problems I've noted.

Fantastic device!
LOVE this thing! I bought it to play music in the back yard. Actually installed it outside in the wall of our barn. You can get to it easily. It runs 4 speakers pretty well, but if you want great bass, you probably want to add an amp. We can stream to it via Bluetooth or, with the AUX connection, we can play just about any device through it. The sound is GREAT and it is so easy to use. We love it. After years of Bluetooth speakers and old home stereos to power our back yard, THIS is the perfect device. If you are not using it in a Marine environment, you will need to power it. You could use a car battery with a trickle charger on it, or a 30A power supply. I went the power supply route and am VERY happy with it.

the best marine radio I have purchased
Hands down, the best marine radio I have purchased. I used to have to purchase a new Dual, BOSS, and other brand radios every year. I bought this for mt bass boat, because it fit in the dash where my older lowrance depth finder was. First one had to be replaced because it quit pairing for the bluetooth. The company that makes these for JBL is based in the Carolina's and they sent me a Brand new one. The guy said I had an older version of the receiver, so he sent me the latest version, and I have had no issue since. I have been in complete down pours and was soaked from head to toe, but the receiver continues to rock on. Bought another one for my Mastercraft, still working great.

Working great since 2014
Bought this to replace a similar style very cheap radio and have been extremely happy. Bluetooth works well. Sound is great. I am using 4 6-1/2 inch Kenwood speakers powered by this head and 2 more 6-1/2 speakers powered via an amp through the rca outputs on the head. 19 foot fish/ski. I'm about to add another amp and sub. The unit does get very hot but only on the backside and also around the thin metal ring in front of the supplied mounting gasket and behind the radio face but not a problem so far. Maybe I got lucky but it has been working great.
