Front and rear cables were perfect length for my mountain bike setup. Installation was easy. Getting the brakes properly aligned and the right cable tension took a few tries but I got them dialed in quickly enough. Brakes are smooth and progressive. I am pleased with this brake set. Can't beat the price. Edit: I ended up buying a second set for another old bike that I wanted to modernize. Wouldn't have done that if I wasn't happy with the first.

I bought the break kit to replace my leaky, rubbing, squeaky hydraulics. The kit is worth every penny, as far as I can tell, after installing and trying it out briefly. The installation is super easy and took me under an hour in total. This is a great product and for the price you can't go wrong for sure.

This was the cheapest disc brake kit available, and they all looked the same anyway. It works. The caliper is very tight so it takes some strength to squeeze. I had to file the mounting hole ears on the disc itself. They were hitting the threads on the hub. I used a flip flop hub with the threaded disc mount and the flat metal caliper mount. This is on a Redline BMX race bike. Not a hard conversion just have to fit it a few times and make adjustments.

Each caliper is clearly marked 160mm front / 140mm rear - but the kit comes with two 160 rotors. For beginner installers, 160mm is how tall the rotor is (the flat metal thing that attaches to your wheels hub). The back caliper attaches directly to your bike frame, so if you put on the 160mm rotor in the bike the caliper doesnt have enough clearance to mount. I read the 160/140 on the bottom of the caliper, assumed id find a 160 and 140 in the box, found 2 160's and just sort of thought the print on the caliper was wrong, put them both on and then when i went to put the back wheel on found the clearance problem. Luckily, i had an old 140 laying around, so had to take off the new rotor, put on the old one and everything worked. It is annoying more than anything, and if you ordered 2 day shipping because you had a trip or something, and DIDN'T have a 140 laying around and did not think you'd need to order one, it could mess up your plans. Other than that, pretty basic, but effective super cheap disk brakes. Feedback to vendor - if they require a 160 and a 140 don't give us two 160's!!!!!!

Good for the price! The change pad location tighteners stripped instantly, but they aren’t needed. You don’t need cable housing as it comes with it. They are crap but being able to brake for ~20 bucks is all you can ask. Make sure you know what you are doing when installing.

I used this kit on my old Diamondback Sorrento to swap the front V Brake for the disc brake in this kit. I went with this one because replacement pads are more readily available. I did not use the rear brake kit because 26 inch rear wheels that are compatible are not common. I was able to source a front wheel from the LBS and this kit fit fine. First impression was not great but I knew that the pads needed to be bedded for it to work properly. Brake worked better the next day. Great price and good deal.

Don’t waste your time and money on this product!! They won’t even stop you on flat ground and sound like a dying cat that you can hear from many blocks away (see video). The brakes also get jammed which keeps them engaged for the remainder of your ride (feels like going up a 15% incline but on flat ground). You also have to squeeze ridiculously hard which after an hour ride is very difficult. If you value your time it’s best not to spend the 2 hours installing, removing, driving to the nearest bridge, and throwing them off (and paying $35). In conclusion they are complete garbage and it’s a bummer you can’t rely on the overall amazon review. On the bright side you will never need a bicycle bell to warn people you are coming as they will already be looking for the distressed cat.

Great replacement for hydraulic brakes. No hassle to fit & pleasantly surprised by the quality. Everything you need comes in the box including bolts & brackets. Only minor niggle is that the front cable could have been a little longer while the rear cable was too long!! Easy to cut down the rear, not so easy to add a bit to the front!! All in all very good value for money 🙂
