Short book, easy to read
I really like how this book is short and to the point since most of us don't have a lot of time to read with toddlers. I think it's great that she gives references showing that it's research based. But I don't agree 100% with everything she says. For instance, the author says giving a hug/cuddling a child during a tantrum will help shorten the tantrum and restore emotional balance. I think this can help in some instances, but not all. Like what if my child is disobeying, I tell her that is not acceptable, she throws a tantrum and I give her a hug? Wouldn't that be giving her the idea that I'm caving in or rewarding her bad behavior? I just would have appreciated tips on how to approach various types of tantrums, not just one approach for all. Overall, there are great pointers in the book and I'm glad I read it. There is definitely some helpful info.

THIS BOOK IS A MUST FOR ANY PARENTS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN
I originally picked this book up for a friend who is a new mom, but after hearing how much she loved it I had to check it out for myself. As a parent, I cannot even beginning to tell you how insightful and valuable the information in this book is for parents. I honestly wish this book would've been around when my daughter was still a toddler, but even with that being said it has allowed me to really take a step back and get a better understanding of why even as a teenager she reacts in certain ways. One of the things that I can truly appreciate about this book is how well it is written. You can tell that Pamela Li truly put in the time to research this subject in order to provide her readers with pertinent information to help them connect the dots as to the ins and outs of tantrums. Beyond this, and my favorite aspect, is that it doesn't read like one long boring report. It is written in a wildly approachable and conversational tone that makes you feel as if you were talking with a friend about parenting. You find yourself relating as a parent to what is being presented and therefore have no trouble immersing yourself in the book and what it has to offer. There is no sense of blaming, but rather of creating a space for understanding and growth that can truly help to transform the relationship with your child. I would definitely recommend this book to friends and family with children!

Valuable piece of advice!
Unfortunately, there is nothing in the world that could fully prepare you for this amazing yet difficult job: being a parent. One can only read as many books as possible and perhaps listen to advice but each child is different and no one will know how to deal with the situation better than the parents. Pamela Li and her successful Turning Tantrums into Triumphs comes as a gift for parents who have tried nearly everything to calm their toddlers. She offers a fresh, new perspective, helping the parents find the solution that best fits their situation. It's easy to read, impossible not to understand and much easier to follow the clever advice she offers. The author gives clear examples of situations and how the parents should deal with them. She also explains why the parents shouldn't react in certain ways and what effect could their response cause. I love the fact that Pamela Li makes the scientific explanations so easy to read, giving simple, yet explicit answers to all of my questions.I think this book is a must and I recommend it to every parent who feels overwhelmed and insecure of his own methods. Pamela Li has studied the scientific aspect of children behavior and from her own experience, has come up with some extremely valuable piece of advice that might just be the missing piece in your strategy in dealing with tantrums.

Very helpful with my toddler.
The author has a lot of great ideas gathered from many different sources. It is a very quick easy read getting key concepts across clearly. Too many books are made that could have been pamphlets. I appreciate the author being concise. The advice in this book is very helpful with my toddler. They are all idea that I could have looked up on my own, but for the price it is nice to have someone else that has already done their research put it together.

Great reflection
I would recommend this book to all parents. It's a great book to reflect and turn to if you are having trouble helping your child. It helped me realized that my up bringing and my way of doing things were not correct. It also showed me some reasoning to my problems and issues with anger due to my parents lack of proper knowledge.

Repetitive, needs only one chapter
Repetitive; lots of common sense and generic advice, the essence of the book can be read in just one chapter.
